I shook my head in disbelief.

"What the heck did I do, Claire? I always treated you well. I always helped you when you were in trouble." I said angrily.

Claire smiled wearily. "And that's what you did wrong." Zann added. I glared at her, my eyes feeling like hot stones that didn't belong. Claire nervously shifted on her feet. "You see, Jave, I..." she stuttered.

I tapped my toes and folded my arms. " You?" I retorted.

"I don't want you helping me every single time and treating me like I'm so fragile, as if I could shatter at any moment.  I won't! I'm stronger than that." Claire finished and turned away.

"Yeah," she replied. Her response was quieter than I expected.

Then she darted away, weaving through the crowd at a remarkable pace. Zann gritted her teeth.

"This is why you should never have been here. You should never have transferred here!" she yelled at me.

I took a frightened step back as she bared her teeth then went to chase after my girl. No, not my girl.

My ex.
