Zann winked at me, for no apparent reason.

"You and Di are cute together," she remarked.

Di flushed hot red and slugged Zann in the arm.

I shrugged. I don't bother to retaliate when Z's remarks were...

Off.

Really far off.

My phone vibrated, making my thigh itchy. I checked it and flipped open a message from Colein.

ColeinT03: I'm set for tomorrow. Any last runs?

I typed a 'no' and turned my phone off.

I had only met Colein once before, when Zann and him were talking and I caught them.

He seemed like a pretty nice guy, good competition for Matthew and he was in a good school.

He's got brains, which is something Zann looks out for in guys.

Matthew pinched me.

"Ow!" I yelped.

"Earth to Matt. Did you hear me?" he asked.

I shook my head violently.

"Tomorrow's thing will be a surprise yeah? For Zann," he motioned.

"Yes, but it's only Di, me, you, Janice, Colein, Justin, Yvonne, Claire, Javier and Gwen." I replied.

"It'll be a huge surprise for Javier for breaking Z's heart, and Claire's gonna be horribly jealous."Di chimed in, smiling wickedly. She had been plotting how to get back at Javier for breaking Z's heart for months.

"Don't forget Rafe and Andy," Matthew said.

Di pursed her lips.

"How will Rafe be jealous? He's- oh! I get it, Matthew." Di replied.

Zann crossed her arms.

"You know I'm here, right? Stop using third person!" she commented.

I swivelled to face her.

"Wait, that was third person?" I wasn't that good in English, and Zann was the English Genius in class.

"Yes, Matt. Di, can you get me a glass of water?" she asked.

Di feigned surprise.

"Why, Zann, I thought you'd want... this!" she cried triumphantly, holding up a 1.5 litre bottle of Coke.

"Now that's more like it. You know, they should make an autobiography of all of Zann's surprises, which are kind of good and always catch her off guard." Matthew said, laughing.

Zann mock-glared at him and pouted.

"You used the wrong term! It's..."
