Chapter 34: Safe And Sound

I slowly recovered from my bow and walked to the end of the dome where my group was. Yukino had a sad smile on her face as she was holding Luna in her arms. Luna was asleep, she must've been tired. It was a long day for her.

Rogue gave me a thumbs up and a small smile. A smile... From Rogue... Mark this in the history books! I smiled back and waved. But as soon and I put my hand back to my side Rogue had his frown-like face back to play. His arms were crossed and he looked away. His cheeks were blush red but I didn't really pay attention.

I walked to the dome's wall saw Sting laying down. He was sleeping with his head on a log and his face twisted. He seemed in discomfort and in pain. I slid own the wall and pulled my scrapped and bloody knees to my chest. I know... I know that I am the reason why he's so... Sad right now. He's worried about me and I'm worried about him. I love him, I don't know how or why. Actually that's a lie. I could go on and on about how and why.

I sank down to my butt and hugged my knees to my chest. I'm exhausted, my knees are scrapped and battered. My muscles ache and I let out a low groan. I closed my eyes and did nothing. I didn't think, I didnt imagine. I just sat there enjoying the little slice of comfort I could find I'm my corner. Next to my friends and yet so far away.

It only felt like a second when suddenly something was flying toward my direction. I barely had anytime to annylaze what was happening. As soon as I snapped my eyes open, I launched myself out of the way. I nearly forgotten I was still in a battle zone.

I grabbed hold of a branch I'm a neat near by tree and hung there. I wad collecting myself and looking around to what happened. Where I sat just meer seconds ago there was a giant tree. A whole tree. The spiralling roots still soiled with fresh dirt to the fine tips of the leaves at the very top. I turn my head to see the dragons biting and clawing one another. Then Eclipse took a stomp to the ground sending riples through his lean muscles and he shook his head. He worked his way back into a fighting stance, ready for anything. He cocked up and opened his mouth sending out an ear piercing bellow. It wad so loud I let go of the branch to cover my ears.

My body slammed to the ground and I didn't care. It was the least of my worries. I crumpled down into a ball and held my head close to my knees. My hands were tightly pressed to the side of my head, hopefully filtering some of the noise out. But still the shriek of Eclipses high roar buzzed in my head. I rocked and kicked my legs out.

It was like an emense head ache that wouldn't go away. Buzz. Buzz. My ear drums pounded and rang, and I felt helpless.

◇•Time Skip•◇

I can't feel my finger tips or my toes. I can't feel anything! It's like im nothing. Only a concept or an idea. I but I'm not surrounded by black. I can see light through my eyelids but I can't hear anything. My head is still cloady and i slowly come into reality. I slowly peel my eyes open. A dim light fills the familiar room. My head is propped up with fluffy pillows and my body is covered with a warm blanket. I sat in bed and everything came back to me all at once. Like an avalanche; memories, pain, thoughts, and soreness.

I groaned and put my hand up to my head, pressing my palm to my temple. I heard shuffling I'm the corner but didn't care to look. My brain felt like it was pushing itself to my skull and was expanding, trying to escape. A hand gently grabbed my wrist and put it back to my lap. I looked up to see 3 pairs of eyes looking at me. Yukino's brown, puppy eyes met mine first, "Hey (Y/N)."

She had on a almost sad smile, "don't press too hard your wound might open again." She started messing around with a bandage wrapped around my head.

"What h-ha-" I couldn't find the word. It was at the top of my tongue, taughting me. I grew frustrated and just closed my eyes.

"Well, when you were in the dome you fell out of a tree, it was a nasty call right into a rock to the head. And when you fell unconscience the bad dragon almost killed you but Eclipse- was it? Well either way, Eclispe jumped in front of you and protected you while still fighting..."

A voice from the background piped up, "Sting couldn't stand it anymore. He thought you were dead so he went on a long and took the some down. He rescued you but the two dragons ran off. The one was still caught in your spell but it was already dead.."

I took a deep breath, it was filled with anxiety. It felt like cottonballs filled my lunges that just took every but bit of moisture in my mouth and throat. It was hard to breath for some reason.  Tears brimmed my eyes, threatening to race down my cheeks. I didn't hold back though, I sobbed.

Glare really is dead... It was on repeat in my mind. Death. I almost died. Glare is dead. Eclipse was dead. Everyone is going to die.

A soft paw crawled up my face catching my tears. I hugged her, my little Luna. I hugged her and I never wanted to let go. And I hope she would allow me to. Her soft whimpers and little missed breaths went unnoticed. She was crying, too.

"Luna," I whispered, "I dont want to lose you. I dont want to lose anyone anymore."

She only nodded her head in agreement. Then arms wrapped around my shoulders, they were Yukino's. Then a small green exceed with his pink onez joined, too. "Fro, wants to join, too," he hugged my other side.

Yukino spoke up, "Rogue I know you want to join. Get over here."

A defeated sigh was on the loose and arms wrapped around everyone. These were my friends. My family. We might not have been blood but our trust and loyalty proves that we were. We love each other and we'd protect one another. But something was missing. Or should I say someones.

A/N: I know it's been too long and I'm sorry. Things have been happening lately that haven't been so great. One of my good friends recently passed away and that was rough, and my phone broke and wouldn't save any progress I made. I know I'm only giving excuses but its all good now.
