Sting's Pov:

I barely remember anything from that night. I remember watching the woman I loved fight from the safty of the outside. I banged and banged on the wall of the dome for hours. My hands are still wrapped in bundles of bandges. I gripped my wrist nervously. I was nervous of what I would remember if I staid on the subject.

(Y/N) was trapped in the spell for a long time. Her body was stuck, like a statue. Her face seemed like it would be in that... scared, determined face, forever. I wish I could forget that. How her body stood tall and strong, but her face showed fear, and sadness. She didn't have to do anything, but at the same time something stronger than any force on the face of plant Earth drove her. Love and respect. She loved Glare, and respected her. It must've killed her fighting the only family she had grown up with.

It's so weird... I love my comraids, my guild. They're my family, and so much more. I look after them like if they were my siblings. I'd give up everything I had for each and every one of them. But (Y/N) was... much more. She was the real weakness to me. The ache in my chest, the sweat in my palms, the lump the size of a rock in my throat. It all was from her.

She's not like the other girls. She is the only one that got me like this. I smile to myself. I just want to see her (E/C) eyes to shine again. I want to see that bright, happy smile again. That's why I'm doing this. Just a little more time.. Just. A little.

I came to the destroyed clearing where (Y/N) fought in. The beautifully peaceful, limp dragon laid in the middle. I walked up to her and placed my hand on her muscular shoulder, "I wish I could thank you. For raising (Y/N). You should see her now... She's a strong young lady. And she still loves you very much. She doesn't blame you. Not at all." I know that I'm talking to a dead, lifeless lump of flesh and bones. It felt like the right thing to do though. I closed my eyes, "I promise I'll protect her."

"You better," a distant voice said.

I opened my eyes looking at the ground for a second then slowly raised my gaze up. An angelic white dragon with light blue eyes started at me. White, ribbon-like aura flew in every which way behind her.

"I entrust you with my daughter," she spoke again. Her mouth wasn't opening though, "Not only with her health and safety but her happiness too."

I closed my mouth and nodded my head once, completely understanding. I went down on to my knees and bowed, "of course. I would want nothing less."

"Here," a single scale was presented to me, "give this to her."

I grabbed it with care and examined it for a split second. I looked up to find nothing, no one.

"I leave her to you. Treat her well, with love."

I gulped, playing with the scale in my fingertips. It sat in the middle of my palm and was shaped like a heart. It was so small and beautiful. The top was completely white and ombred down to a dark galaxy purple. It must've been her original body color. The purple would've been tucked under another scale and covered.

A silver chain suddenly looped itself to the scale forming a little necklace. I smiled just thinking about her wearing it. I could see her wearing it everywhere she went, everyday- there it was, her necklace.

I raised my head about to walk away, but I noticed Glare' s body shimmering. It was lighting up like a fire, and it was growing. It wasn't blinding, but it was extremely bright. Her body flew up, bit by bit into white dust. Going to the heavens, going home. Moon awaited her, her final resting place. The dusty flakes swirled up kicking up wind and speeding off out of reach.

Goodbye.

I gritted my teeth. Just a turn of a knob anf I could see (Y/N). Everyone in the guild is packed down in the commons. Talking up a storm, overwhelming me in a tornado of words and whispers. My thoughts drift to every corner of the universe. Every detail in the scene. The sweat on the back of my neck and how hard it is to breath right now.

She's awake. At least. Yukino, Rogue and Fro had has been at the side of her bed this whole time. The longest 2 days of my life. I couldn't sit next to her for it. It lurked at the back of my mind that her heart beat might stop or that she'd ciest to breath. Her body would go pale and her skin grew cold.

Lector yelled from below, "Are you just going to stand there or are you going to go see her?!"

I shook off those awful thoughts. She's alive. I smiled to myself, she's alive. I reached for the door handle and turned it slowly. I peeled inside the room and saw (Y/N) sitting up. Her hair tangled and knotted in the bandges wrapped around her noggin. She was looking off to her right, at nothing really. Maybe the thousands of flowers that lined the dresser, and the floor. Bright, colorful petals with tall healthy stems. All their scents blended into the room.

She turned her head to me and her face lit up. A smile curled up on her lips. I smiled back and took the steps to the side of the bed. She's still hurt so I didn't want her to move much. Gently I snaked my arms around her and embraced her into a hug, she welcomed me in her own arms. A deep breath, in and out. We didn't say a word, we didn't need to. Her hands gripped me tightly, and I loved it. The way her body was pressed to mine. How we both breathed each other in. We no longer just wanted each other, we need one another.

I kissed the side of her head delecatly. She loosed her grip around me and so did I. We pulled back from the hug and just sat there for a second.

"You can take off your shoes and stay awhile, ya'know," she patted the bed next to her. I obeyed and started to crawl over her but when I was on all fours right on top of (Y/N), I looked up into her (E/C) eyes and leaned in planting a solid kids on her lips. I made it quick and rolled off of her to the side. I laid next to her and grabbed the necklace from my pocket.

I held my hand out balled up in a fist and dropped the scale with the chain around my middle finger.

"Glare told me to give this to you," I spoke with kindness and softness, "(Y/N) I promised her I'd protect yo-"

My sentence was cut short and she took the necklace from my possession and locked her arms around my neck and kissed me. It took me by surprise and slowly sat up. My hands sat at the bottom of her back and I pulled her closer.

She ended the kiss by pulling back. "Dumby," she rested her forehead on mine, "just shut up and understand something."

"What?" I asked.

"That promise goes both ways. You protect me and I protect you," she smiled.

I sighed in defeat, "okay. Okay. Better start writing vows though."

Her face got warm with a blush, "w-What do you mean?"

"(Y/N) will you make me a happy husband?"

"Hmm... on one condition."

"Anything you ask for, love~"

"Make me a happy wife."

"I promise," I kissed her once more.
