Percy's POV:
I let go of Max and walk away to Annabeth's room. I knock on her door twice, and a second later, the door swings open.
"Annabeth, I need your help," I say automatically and she quickly lets me in her room. I sit on her made bed and she sits at her organized desk.
"What's up, Seaweed Brain?" She asks me. I look down.
"I don't know why, but Max doesn't think she's one of us. She keeps claiming that she isn't, even though I know she is. I want to make her feel like she's part of the team, but I don't know how. Do you have any ideas?" I explain to Annabeth, who starts to concentrate, then her face relaxes.
"Well, first of all, you have to make her feel happy and comfortable here," Annabeth answers.
I open my mouth to speak when Leo calls out to us, "Hey, guys, come over here! It's important!".
I sigh but get up with Annabeth to hear what Leo has to say this time.
Max's POV:
Leo calls us over, but I don't pay any attention to it. About a half hour later, Leo's docking the ship on water. I'm curious why, but I don't want to get involved into anything, even though I'm already involved in a suicide mission.
Percy, Annabeth, Frank, Leo, and Hazel have gone somewhere while Piper and Coach Hedge volunteered to stay here. Piper told me that we landed in Salt Lake, Utah so the others can go look for some items that can help them with damage done to the ship.
Jason's still unconscious. He got hit in the head with a brick. He's been knocked out ever since the seven took a trip to Camp Jupiter. They went back to Camp Half-Blood to grab some more supplies and to repair the ship from a monster attack and now they're on their way to Rome and then Greece. Either way, I'm sorry John Smith.
I sit on the floor of Percy's room for what seems like forever until I hear the boat shaking as what seems like fists pounding on it from outside.
What happened out there now?
I get up and rush over to Piper's room and her door swings open before I can knock. We stare at each other with confusion on our faces before more pounding snaps us back to reality.
"Do you know what that is?" Piper asks me as we head to Jason's room. He woke up an hour ago. He's better now.
"No." I answer, shaking my head. We arrive at Jason's room and Piper opens the door. Jason is inside, holding a gold coin in his hand. He flips it and catches it as a long, Imperial gold sword in his hand. I'm not surprised by this-Percy has a pen-sword.
I unsheathe my glass sword as Coach Hedge frantically waves us over. We walk over to him and there's a wild, crazy look in his eyes.
"Those are some weird monsters outside. I've never seen 'em before," Coach Hedge informs us.
"What do they look like?" I ask.
"They're tall, very, very pale, long black trench coats, and they have cannons and swords!" Coach explains.
Mogadorians.
"Where are they?" I ask with gritted teeth and it comes out more of an order, more harsh than I expected.
Hedge points behind me, where Jason, Piper, and I came from. I turn around and start walking back to where the Mogs are. Time to get some revenge.
I peek outside through a small window, and there's about a dozen Mogs banging on the ship and another dozen waiting behind them.
I scowl at them. I want to jump through a window and kill them right now. So that's what I'm going to do.
I notice Piper and Jason follow me. I turn around and face them.
"No. You two stay here. They're part of my quest. They won't hurt you unless you hurt them. This is my war."
And I'm jumping out an open window, on the opposite side of the Mogs. I dive into the water and wish I had at least one legacy. Breath underwater wouldn't really help me, though. Percy told me that a child of Poseidon can breathe underwater, control water, and heal myself and others with it.
I quietly swim to the Mogs, sword ready in one hand, empty left hand ready to create a tsunami at them. I take a deep breath and make my way up to the surface of the water.
I'm about to stab a Mog in the head when I realize something's off. They're not paying any attention to me. They're not paying any attention to the girl with the glass sword raised above their buddy's head.
I brush it off. This is my time to get some real revenge. I bring the sword down on the Mog's head and he almost automatically drops down as a pile of ash. I swipe my sword left and right, up and down until every Mog banging on the ship has died. The Mogs behind them frantically look around for me, but they can't see me. I roll my eyes at the blind idiots and continue to kill them off.
After I've killed the last one, I hear Jason and Piper call out to me.
I turn around and see them in the water, looking around for me. Even when they're looking at me, they can't see me.
Is this some sick prank?
I wave my arms like a madman to get their attention, but no such luck. I sheathe my sword and walk towards them. They hear the small splash I make when I get in the water and look in my direction but their worried eyes don't change. They really don't see me?
I cock my head to the left in confusion, then straighten when I realize something. I look down and I can't see myself. I'm invisible.
My first legacy.
Piper's POV:
Jason and I search around the whole boat for Max but we don't see anything new but piles of ash on the ground and floating in the water.
"Where is she?" I ask worriedly. I look around some more and finally see her walk around the corner of the boat, heading towards us.
"Max, there you are!" I exclaim and swim towards her. "Where were you?" I ask her.
"Underwater," Max replies. Of course. Jason and I looked everywhere but underwater. But the odd thing is that she has no cuts, bruises, or scratches whatsoever. She just fought about two dozen monsters, or whatever those things were, and she looks like she just came back from vacation.
I brush it off and Jason, Max, and I climb back onto the boat. A few minutes later the rest of the crew climb back onboard with all the supplies. After Leo finishes fixing the boat, we're up in the air again.
As I'm walking to my room, passing Percy's, I hear Max and Leo talking and I smile.
I think it's time for the daughter of Aphrodite to take action.
