Max's POV:

I sit on the floor of Percy's room- something I've grown fond to- just trying to get everything off my mind. I got my first legacy. I still can't believe that my first legacy is invisibility. That's really going to help.

Just then, Leo walks in, and he has 'AM LEO' written in black Sharpie on his shirt and grease covering him with his messy hair slicked back, goggles on top of his head, and sharpie tattoos on his arms, one of which says 'Hot Stuff' with a skull. I look up at him in confusion.

"Long story," Leo replies. We both sit on Percy's bed and talk about our godly parents. We both have never met our godly parents in person. I honestly don't even know what Poseidon looks like, or what he's like.

Suddenly Percy is bursting into the room with Piper by his side. They both have frantic looks on their faces. I stand up in confusion and concern.

"What's wrong?" I ask them.

"Those...monsters...Or, whatever they are, they're back. They're following us. They're right below us. There's a couple of them, about as much as last time." Piper explains.

These guys are quick, but shouldn't the Mist be covering up the ship? Maybe they see a huge plane the girl they're trying to kill is on.

"What monsters?" Leo asks, standing up with me. Not monsters, Mogadorians. Yeah, they're from another planet, like me.

"When you guys left, these tall, pale monsters with cannons and swords started banging on the ship," Piper responds and I nod my head. Don't worry, I got rid of two dozen of them. Gotta kill 'em all.

"We can take them out, right? How many are there?" Leo asks.

"About forty of them." Piper answers. I can handle that as long as I'm invisible. You guys better stay on the ship.

"Yeah, we can take them," I say, shrugging my shoulders. Thirty, that's nothing! Especially if one of those Mogs is the Mog that killed me, then I'll start going hardcore, and they'll all be gone in a second without my invisibility.

"Alright. I'll land the ship. Max, come with me. Piper, Percy, can you guys get everyone ready for battle?" Leo asks, pointing to each of us as he tells us what to do. Piper and Percy nod their heads and rush off to call everyone else down.

This is wrong. This is my battle, my war, they shouldn't get involved in all of this.

I follow Leo as he docks the ship in front of the Mogs. They all stop and stare at the ship as it lands. They get their cannons and swords ready, but they don't know that I'm also ready.

I take a quick scan to see if any of those Mogs are the two who helped each other kill me. Those two really bother me when I think of them, which is a lot.

"Alright, it's time, Max," Leo calls me over, and I walk back to him, sort of disappointed that none of those Mogs are the two who killed me. What can I say, everyone needs to get revenge on each other every once in a while.

Everyone starts jumping down from the ship. Percy creates a hurricane of water to soften his fall and starts blasting Mogs with huge waves of water. Piper and Annabeth use their daggers against the Mogs, Leo bursts a bunch of them to flames, and Jason flies above them, striking them with lightning and swinging his Imperial gold sword at them. Hazel does amazing with her gold sword and Frank with his bow and arrows. Now it's my turn.

I jump down and unsheathe my glass sword, which glows brightly despite the glowing sun hanging above us.

I turn invisible, which is a big risk since the seven are fighting alongside me, but I don't care. I'll do anything to get rid of these Mogaidiots. I swing my sword at the Mogs who don't expect me coming, which is each Mog I kill. Which is a lot.

Suddenly I'm blasted with searing pain in my back, shoving me off my feet and I clench my teeth to stop from screaming out in pain. But-no- that can't be happening. I'm Number Two, not Number One. I can't be getting hurt. The charm isn't broken yet. Right?

I jump back to my feet and turn around, getting ready to dodge another cannon blast. That really hurts.

But instead of seeing a Mog, I see a tall, tan, muscular guy with curly blond hair and a strong jaw tightly clenching a diamond edged dagger which is coated with ash in his hand. I immediately recognize him.

He's John Smith, the Garde from my dreams.

I run up to him, and he stays in his place, watching me come closer to him. I look up at him.

"Good to finally see you in person. I'm John Smith, though I'm pretty sure you already know that," John explains and offers me his hand.

I take my hand in his and shake it once. Then we pull apart, but we keep staring at each other. This is unbelievable. I finally found another Garde. Well technically, he found me, but still. It's a miracle.

"I'm Max. Max Jackson. Number Two." I introduce myself, and he nods, looking extremely hopeful with a far-away look in his eyes.

"Max, who's that?" I hear Percy ask to my left. I turn to look at him, and he has Riptide, his pen-sword, drawn and pointed at John. I realize that the battle is over, all the Mogs have been killed, and everyone is gathered around John and I, staring at John with an alarmed and ready look in their eyes.

"It's alright. He with me. He's...part of my quest," I explain and look down, knowing what that means.

I have to start my quest, continue John's. Which means I have to leave from the demigods. I have to leave Leo.

"Y-Your quest? Does that mean you have to....leave?" I hear Leo ask from behind me. I turn around to face him, and there's a pained expression on his face, which makes tears form in my eyes, but I quickly blink them away. I nod my head yes and look down again. Everyone gathers in front of me, and I look at each one of them individually.

"Thank you all for helping me," I say, but before I can say anything else, my voice leaves. I can't find it anymore.

"Max, we have to leave," John tells me, placing one of his hands on my shoulder. I nod my head in agreement.

"Yeah, I know," I reply, which is painful to say.

I turn around, taking a final glance at the demigods, and start walking with John. But I stop after taking two steps away- still no pun intended.

John looks back at me with a confused face and asks, "You coming?"

I nod my head yes. "I am, I just...I need to do something."

I turn around on my heel, take the two steps back to the demigods, wrap my arms around Leo's neck, pull him closer, and kiss him. I let his warmth spread through me, let everything inside me melt away- all the pain, all the sadness, all the fear melting away as I kiss him.

He's shocked at first but after a few seconds, he kisses back, a slight smile appearing on his lips. His lips are soft and really warm with a weird combination taste of metal and sugar. I like it. He pulls me closer, wrapping his arms around my waist. This could be the last time I see Leo, and that shatters my heart in a million pieces.

When we break from our kiss, Leo and I stare at each other for what seems like hours until we let go of each other. I look down but Leo forces me to look at him again.

"I'll find you again, I will," Leo says, and I pray to the gods that he won't promise it.

"I promise."

And we're letting go of each other, going our separate ways. Leo heading to the ship, me heading to where John leads me.

Leo made two promises to me, but I know that both will be broken very soon.

No matter what, promises don't last long.
