Six's POV:
Suddenly I have this feeling in me. A call for help. Somewhere, I don't know exactly where, though. Then it hits me, like a speeding bullet.
Spain.
I literally hop off the bench I was sitting on. Max gets startled by my sudden actions and I look down at her.
"Sorry," I mutter bluntly.
"What's wrong?" Max asks, obvious concern in her voice.
"One sec, I need to call the boys," I reply and head to the back of the gas station, but the guys appear around the corner with blank expressions before I can make it halfway to the corner.
"Hey, guys, come here, I need to tell you something," I call over to the guys, waving them over, and I sit on the bench again. John and Sam walk over. Sam sits next to me and John sits next to Max. I have to hide a smirk for that one.
"What'd you have to tell us?" Sam asks.
I snap back to reality. I tuck my pendant under my black t-shirt and look back at everyone again. I sigh.
"I-I don't know, I heard something, in my head, like a call for help. Coming from Spain. It might be another Garde," I explain. The others look at each other.
"Well then what are we waiting for? We should go, right?" Max asks, almost desperately. She's as desperate as I am to find the other Garde, and that means she's really desperate.
John and Sam glance at each other. "Actually, we need to head to West Virginia. We need to get something," John tells me. I nod my head, biting my lip as we all stand up.
"Hey, John, where's BK?" Sam asks. Who's BK?
John sees the confusion on me and Max's faces. "BK's my Chimæra who came with me from Lorien. He can shape-shift, that's basically what a Chimæra does. He's usually in the form of a beagle." John shrugs his shoulders. He stands up from the wooden bench he was sitting on with Max by his side. "He should be a bird like an eagle or something," John adds in, looking up at the sunny, clear blue sky. I look up with him and see a big bird that does look like an eagle soaring above us.
John whistles and the eagle flies down and lands on his feet in front of us, then he shape-shifts into a brown, white, and black beagle, and I smile. Katarina, my Cêpan, once told me about these guys before. The Chimæra, BK, starts jumping on me, but I don't exactly know what he wants. John chuckles.
"He wants you to pick him up," John informs me and I look up at him.
"How do you know that?" I ask him, and even though I'm not exactly sure if John is correct or not, I pick up BK and cradle him in my arms.
"Animal telepathy," John replies, shrugging his shoulders.
"Alright, let's go to West Virginia," Sam says as he, John, and Max head towards their blue truck.
Max's POV:
"Why West Virginia?" I ask as I climb into the back of Sam's truck. John drives again while Sam sits in passenger.
"Sam and I, before we found you, went back to Paradise, Ohio to get a transmitter Sam's dad hid. We found it, but the Mogs found and attacked us and stole the transmitter and my chest. They can't open it, obviously, and we're heading to their base in West Virginia to get it back," John explains to me. Lucky Number Four. Still has his pendant and his chest, and even though it's been taken away, at least he knows where it is.
