John's POV:
I don't know how I got myself in this situation.
A tall, buff guy with long, straight black hair and dark brown eyes is fighting alongside me as the Mogs attempt to stab or shoot us. He fights with a long red pipe that glows with heat he got from his chest Sam and I managed to sneak. We also managed to get a chest that has Two's symbol on it- Two's chest.
Sam goes looking for his father, who's being held captive here. I fight the Mogs with my diamond edged Loric dagger I got from my chest. The guy with long black hair turns out to be Number Nine. How many Garde are we going to find today?
Nine and I fight our way through the tons of Mogs, killing each one in sight. Once we see the exit, we bolt for it, Bernie Kosar eagerly waiting for us outside, shape-shifted into a horse. Before I can reach him, though, I remember Sam. He's still in there, searching for his father.
Without thinking, I rush right back into the Mogadorian base, only to find a powerful blue force field protecting the doorway. I feel searing hot pain fill me up head-to-toe the moment I touch it, and I'm nearly knocked out, knowing that Sam is still in there, with the Mogs.
My last thought before I knock out is how is he going to get out?
Max's POV:
Before Crayton buys our airplane tickets to India, where he thinks another Garde is hiding, I rush up to him and tell him, "Don't buy a ticket for me. I'm not going."
He looks at me, puzzled. He drags me away from the others and asks me, "What are you talking about?"
"I'm going to West Virginia, where Number Four is. I need to see if he's alright, and I need to tell him everything," I explain, staring at Crayton with an 'I can do this' look.
"How are you going to get there?" Crayton asks, which is probably the easiest question I've been given today.
"I have a new legacy, flight, I can use that. Don't worry, I won't let anyone see. I have an invisibility legacy, too," I answer with confidence the only thing heard in my voice.
Crayton stares at me, studying me for a while before answering. He sighs. "Fine. But be careful."
I smile brightly, which honestly is hard for me to do, since I'm still kind of recovering from leaving the demigods.
"Thanks Crayton," I thank him, then rush over to tell the others. They seem upset about it, but they're okay with it.
"You go do your thing and we'll do ours," Six tells me, smiling and nodding her head. I slightly smile when I realize that's almost the same thing Sam said when I left with Six to find Marina.
"I'll see you guys again," I say, hesitating before leaving. I almost promised it, but I know I'll just jinx it.
I walk to an empty ally and after making sure the coast's clear, I turn invisible and fly up into the sky, towards West Virginia.
John's POV:
I've been awake for awhile, and, once again, I don't know how I got into this situation.
Number Nine and I are strapped into a police van with an agent, Agent Walker, watching us.
I know none of the Garde are dead, but I'm still worried, mostly about Two- or Max. What if something happens to any of them? I won't be there to do anything about it. And what if Six was wrong? What if, instead of a Garde in Spain, there's just a bunch of Mogs?
I shake these thoughts out of my head. I have to focus on the situation I'm in right now.
