How to be Happy

Heey guys so this chapter is another addition to those "feel good" chapters I've done (there are more in book 1) and I was in the mood for making thissss so yeah.c: I hope anyone reading this can take something from this chapter whether you're dealing with depression, self harm, nothing at all.....etc?

But MOSTLY this is targeted at people who have a difficult time when coping with tough things in their lives. And stuff. Pretty much this is a tutorial on how to be happy <3

First of all, though, if you want to be happy, you have to do something, and can't just expect things to get better.

How to deal with sadness and bad things in life and anything that brings you down blah.

1) Music

Music has been psychologically proven to lower your stress levels. It releases dopamine in your brain (which is equivalent to what drugs do) and it essentially puts you in a better mood.

Something you should do (if you're feeling sad) is find a song in your playlist that describes that emotion you're feeling to express yourself. Sometimes we all just need to find something that connects to us on that level to let it all out. Then, move on to another song that has a happier tune to it, in a way, replacing the last emotion so that you feel you can move on.

2) Find a place to let your feelings out.

Depending on what you prefer, find an outlet in which you can let out your anxiety, anger, etc. For example, keep a private journal. Write or draw or cut and paste anything you want into it that describes your moods, etc so that it's not all stuck in your head. Or, if you're not as crafty or a fan of writing, then create a tumblr account if you don't have one and reblog posts that make you feel happy. Create posts containing your thoughts, feelings, etc on anything you please so that at least you got it out of your head. But don't look at or reblog things that are triggering and are meant to make you feel bad about yourself. There are so many funny things online that'll make you laugh!!!!!!! Trust meeeeee!!!!

3) Do what you love to do.

What talents do you have? What are your favorite hobbies? What are you good at? What makes you happy?

And please don't say that you aren't good at or don't enjoy anything these days. Come on, find something you like to do.

It can be...

Drawing, painting, playing an instrument, photography, PETTING CATS, writing stories (like on wattpad), watching Tv, playing video games, browsing the Internet, making jewelry, wandering forests, spending time with friends, exercising, knitting sweaters goddamit, cooking, shopping, finding new music, singing, smoking weed (jk), reading this book, watching movies, watching youtube videos, cosplaying, playing sports, doing nail art, skateboarding, trolling people, texting people, having an Easter egg hunt in September (what), practicing driving, sleeping a lot, etc ... whatever you like to do c:

4) Go on a walk.

It'll get everything off your mind and you'll feel much much better when you get back. It's also healthy for you and you'll burn calories and lower your stress levels.

5) CUTE. ANIMALS.

Find a really cute animal (like a dog or cat or hamster etc) and just play with these pets. It's actually pretty therapeutic and can put you instantly in a better mood. I mean, come on. How can you not feel happy when you see fluffy kittens rolling around and playing with yarn?????? If you don't have a pet, look up really cute animals on youtube and put it in ULTIMATE full screen and indulge yourself in the cuteness. Seriously though. It helps.

6) Talk to someone you're comfortable with.

You are extremely lucky if you have ANYONE in your life that you can talk to that has a bubbly, nice, personality. Confide in your best friend and maybe they can help or have some advice.

7) meditation.

Meditation can calm you and lower stress levels so look into it some more if you're interested in it.

8) Eat chocolate.

Chocolate has chemicals in it that are a substitute for love, which tricks your brain.

9) watch a movie that relates to you that can take you away for a bit.

When you're watching a movie, you are being transferred into the world of the setting of the movie you're watching, providing a distraction from real life. !!!!!! Same with video games or online games like club penguin, yoville, etc.

10) just browse online for things that make you happy..... like SHOPPING!!!

If you like shopping, go make an account on that website. NOW!!! 

It has tumblr clothes, inventions, trending things like makeup, jewelry, furniture, (lol really tho), anything really directed at teens. It pretty much has everything, whether you're a girly-girl that likes cute hipster-tumblr clothes or a punk kid that likes band tees. To make you happier, find everything you like and save it to your page on the website (you can even seperate them into categories to organize them if you'd like), etc.

11) watch youtube videos.

Youtube videos actually do help people that are depressed, and a lot of youtubers don't even realize that. Those videos are taking you away from the shitty drudgeries of life for a few minutes. Some youtubers I'd recommend for putting you in a good mood are:

12) try new things with your appearance.

Follow fun tutorials like: 

*Makeup 

*hair 

*diy face masks 

*how to cut, stud, etc to clothing 

*idk

13) clean your room, organize things!

14) become more accepting.

Become more accepting of yourself so that you can accept happiness into your life.

Overall, don't rely on other people to make you happy. [Make yourself happy] and YOU WILL BECOME HAPPY! <3
