Uh Oh

It's mid night and I can't sleep at all! So many thoughts are bouncing in my brain right now. With school ending soon there's so much stress. Lately I've been a hermit and locked my self in my room. If you've seen me it's only been at school. And if you did see me you probably didn't get a hi or anything. Mani, my boyfriend, has been texting and calling but I've been ignoring. I really need to focus on passing my grade.

I start to hear little clicks on my window. Am I that sleep deprived that I'm hearing things? I try to ignore it but I can't. I hoped out of bed and looked out the window. There stands Mani. What is he doing? I open the window.

"What are you doing? It's midnight!" I called out to him.

"Kiara you've been so stressed lately and shutting me out. I have a surprise for you."

"Ok well I'll look at it tomorrow. I really need to sleep."

"No! Climb out the window!"

"W-what? I can't do that!"

"Come on and live a little! You can retake a class you can't retake an adventure."

He was right...

"A-alright." I hesitated.

My parents had given me an escape ladder since I'm on the second floor. It's incase of fires. I grabbed it from under my bed and hooked it onto the edge of the window. Slowly I made my way down. When I got close enough Mani helped me the rest of the way.

"Okay? So where are we going?" I asked.

He took my hand." You'll see!" The was a spark in his eyes that excited me.

He opened the passenger side for me and let me in his car. He got in on the other side and started the car. We drove for a short time until we reached a field.

"Why are we here?" I asked.

"Will you stop asking questions. It's a surprise!" He chuckled.

He got out and opened the door for me. He took my hand and led me into the field. There was a blanket on the soft grass. He lead me and we laid down.

"Each time I look into your eyes I see the stars and I wanted to show you the spark I see." He said pointing to the sparking sky.

I snuggled next to him. For the first time in a while I felt completely relaxed. But it wouldn't stay that way for long... Little did I know my dad checks in me each night. He's been doing it since I was young. When you think of it it's really sweet but if he would have just skipped tonight that would have been great.

"Kiara! Kiara!" My heart dropped to the ground.

I could hear the anger in his voice. I'm dead... I quickly shot up and looked around for him. I stood up as fast as I could.

"Kiara what in the heck are you doing out here?! Do you know what time it is?!" He eyes then saw Mani." You're out here with your boyfriend?!"

"Well... I... Uh..."

"What exactly are you doing out here with him?!"

"L-looking at the stars..." I looked at my feet.

"Mani! Kiara! Do you two know how irresponsible this is?!" He came you and grabbed my wrist." You can say goodbye to him!"

"B-but dad!" He started pulling me away.

"S-sir?" Mani spoke up.

Dad stopped and looked at Mani. Rage in his eyes.

"This was my idea. I noticed she had been so stressed lately and I wanted to help her relax. So I thought it would be nice to star gaze. Just star gaze nothing else. The only reason I did this is because I love your daughter and I wanted her to know."

I looked at dad. He sighed.

"A-alright... But don't think this will go unpunished."

"Really?" I said with glee.

"Yes. Next time ask me will ya? Now you can finish your little date. But if you pull any move on my daughter h will end you. Do you understand me son?" He got close to Mani.

"Y-yes s-sir." Mani looked like a little girl scared of the boogie man.

"Good." My dad patted him on the back.

Mani and I laid back down in the blanket and finished our date. Maybe it wasn't the best idea to go without asking but I would do it again in a heart beat.
