Love

Have you ever been in love

Has your heart ever beat

To the beat of 1000 drums

Have you ever looked at someone

And felt your stomach hurt

With a pain never felt before

Have you ever been talking to someone

And been so worried that

You're just going to declare your true feelings

Have you ever been sitting next to someone

And found yourself glancing at them

Surreptitiously out of the corner of your eye

Have you ever been scrolling through Facebook

And you just find yourself looking

At all of their pictures and posts

Have you ever been so in love

That you just have to tell someone

Or else you'll explode

Have they ever just found their way into your dreams

Did they inadvertently wander into your heart

Are you still just trying to be friends

It doesn't work

Believe me, I know

Maybe just tell them how you feel

Before they're gone forever

And you regret letting them go

Love is a many splendored thing

But it's also hard to live with

And tricky to articulate
