I Thought I Was Over You

When you find yourself awake

During the wee hours of the mornin'

What or who do you think of

Do I ever grace your thoughts

If not in tremendous and fantastic detail

Then in fleeting memory

A Quicksilver or Barry Allen dash across your mind

Perhaps you think about the future

Whether in worry or confidence

Worried that you won't make it

Confident that you've got it all figure out

Maybe that one song that just won't go away

Does the song remind you of someone or something

Is that why it won't leave you in peace

Who is the lucky person

That gets to swim lazily through your brain

Nobody in particular yet

Or someone you don't want to acknowledge

Don't worry

You've all the time in the world

To figure out what and who you want

And despite what you might think

You deserve nothing less

Than the moon & all the stars around it

Whatever you want

Tell me and I will get it for you

In some shape or form

But nothing

No nothing at all

Can surpass your beauty

Inside and out

So here and now I resign myself to this fact

I will never be worthy of you or

Anyone for that matter
