I'm Not Jealous

I'm not jealous

You keep using that word to tease me

It strikes deeper than you know

I watch you go off with your girlfriend

While I pine for someone I can't have

You come back and tell me all about her

While I think of someone else

Somebody unattainable, just out of reach

I sit in my room and paint a picture

A portrait of him in my mind

Fluffy haired, tan skinned, quirky drummer boy

You ask me jokingly if I'm jealous

Of what you have with your girlfriend

I reply with a grin "Of course not"

Which is true because I am not jealous

You deserve happiness after your hardships

I deserve nothing except what I've got

A broken soul and empty dreams

And stuck on the entrancing boy
