"You first," she said, sticking her hand out. He glanced at her then at the dark apartment.
He headed in and looked for the light. Once he did, the place lid up.
The place was very small. The living room and kitchen were connected. The couch was l shaped and was blue. Then a small TV sitting a table. A rug with a weird pattern stretched behind the couch. And see through a table in front of the couch.
"Sorry for the mess." Olivia walked over to the table to clean up the mess, Calvin looked over that. He didn't care if it was messy.
Calvin glanced over his shoulder. The door was wide open.
"Is she gonna be mad at you for that?" He pointed behind him. Olivia momentarily stopped and glanced to where he was pointing at.
"No. I've done this too many times. It can be fixed no problem."
As she was cleaning up. Calvin looked around the place. A picture hanging up on the wall stood out to him.
She was smiling at the camera. An elderly man with a grey beard grinned. It looked like they were at a beach. Who was this man? Calvin could only assume it was Dory's father. Her hair down to her shoulders, now her hair was longer. So this was taken in the past.
Calvin looked at the next picture. The guy at the bar, Wade was dancing with Dory the picture. Dory smiled like she adored Wade. Like they were in love. His heart dropped in his stomach. No one ever looked at him.
He was a suit and tie. Dory was wearing a red long dress and curled hair. Calvin someone familiar in the back. Olivia. He stepped closer and squinted his eyes to get a better look. Olivia was looking at the couple with a smouldering gaze. Wade had Dory in his arms and Olivia looked mad. Was she jealous? Jealous of who?
"Anything to drink?" she asked him.
"No but thanks."
She sat down on the couch and rested her legs on the table and turned on the TV. Calvin didn't feel comfortable sitting down. Something was telling him to look for Dory.
"I think we should go look for her," he said still standing.
"She's gonna be here any minute."
He wasn't sure about that. He had this gut feeling something happened.
She must have seen his hesitation on his face because she says, "If she isn't here in 10 minutes. We'll look for her."
Ten minutes. That was all he needed to for.
"Okay. No longer than ten minutes," he said sternly. He looked down at his watch it read 11:35. He only needed to wait until it said 11:45.
"Have a seat, relax a bit." She patted the next to her.
Calvin was tired after going up the stairs. He needed some time to rest his legs. He walked over to Olivia and sat next to her and watched whatever was on.
There were six people on the screen. Three boys and three girls. One girl had long blonde hair, the other girl had black short hair, and the last girl had a brown mixed with blonde highlights. They were all sitting down a red couch and it looked like they were in a cafe.
"What's this?" Calvin asked. He had no clue what it was.
Olivia glanced at him with shock. "You don't know what this is?"
He shook his head.
"You never even heard of it?" she said astonished. Calvin shook his head again. "Nope."
"Oh my god. Who doesn't know what friends is?"
What? Is that what the show is called friends?
"You have to watch the show. Come on," she said, getting his attention. He stared at the TV as the scene continued to play.
It must have been funny because Olivia laughed. Calvin didn't understand, he continued watching it.
"Joey is my favorite."
He didn't know who that was. Nor did he care. Have ten minutes gone by? Calvin thought. He looked down at his watch. Nope.
The show continued to play. Calvin wasn't really watching it, though, he was pretending so Olivia could be quiet. The show ended with the credits and that was his cue to leave.
"Okay. It's been ten minutes and she isn't here," he announced as he got up.
She groaned. "Just stay here. I'm pretty sure she's fine."
Calvin eyed her. "Why aren't you concerned about her?"
"She can take care of herself," she said.
"You don't know that. She probably walked home and that's dangerous, especially at this time of night."
She shrugged her shoulders. Calvin was getting worried that Olivia did not care about Dory. She seemed to like this was an everyday occurrence. He had to leave now.
He didn't wait to say goodbye to Olivia, he dashed out the door and rushed down the steps. He prayed to god he wasn't too late.
HAPPY SATURDAY EVERYONE!
