"Good morning boys! Sleep well?" Burt asked cheerfully when Kurt and Carson joined those few who were already awake the next morning. The grass was wet and the air was muggy. Kurt grumbled as he plopped down beside Carole. Finn and Rachel sat eating breakfast on the other side of the campfire.

"That good huh?" Carole inquired in response to Kurt's gruff answer.

"I hate camping." Kurt summed up in three words. Everyone laughed wholeheartedly at his miserable expression.

"Well I've got sausage for breakfast. You can cook it over the fire pit." Burt said as he tried to hand Kurt a long metal pole with meat on the end of it. Kurt shuttered at the sight.

"I am not eating that." He said defiantly. Carson laughed at him again and leaned forward to take the pole from his father.

"Fine. Starve to death for all I care. More food for me." Carson quickly stuck the sausage into the fire and held it down towards the bright embers.

"Kurt, if you're not going to eat, can you go wake up Chris and Blaine." Burt asked calmly in between bites of him own food. "We should start heading down to the lake soon. We want to get there before other people so the fish aren't scared away." Kurt sighed once more before he got up off the log and walked back in the direction of the tents. When he disappeared, Burt started to chuckle again. "How is he my biological son?"

"It's okay dad. You have me!" Carson responded innocently, as if there was a giant halo floating above his head. This only resulted in Burt laughing louder.

"How did you sleep Rachel?" Carole asked the brunette. Rachel had been uncharacteristically quiet all morning. She had slight bags under her eyes and she didn't hold herself in her normal regal manner. She sat slouched over slightly and her hair was in a messy bun on the top of her head. Before she could answer, a huge yawn found it's way out of her mouth.

"Chris snores." She said simply. Carson snickered softly.

"Yeah, he does. We all kind of have a thing about sleeping. Chris snores, Kurt sleep-snuggles, and I talk in my sleep on occasion." He shrugged his shoulders slightly as he pulled his now crispy sausage out of the fire and started to eat it.

"That's weird man." Finn stated with an eyebrow slightly arched. Carole laughed at her son's declaration.

"Honey, you might not snore at night, but you are a very loud mouth breather all of the time." Finn blushed slightly as Carson chuckled again. They were interrupted as Chris walked into the clearing and joined them around the fire.

"Good morning there zombie. How nice of you to join the light of day." Burt said cheerfully as he passed another metal rod with food on it around the circle. Chris scoffed lightly at his father's words.

"Easy there dad. It's too early for jokes."

It was Burt's turn to laugh. "It is never too early for a good laugh son."

"Eat your breakfast quickly honey. We want to start heading towards the lake if we are going to get a good spot to fish." Carole said in Chris's direction. "Were Kurt and Blaine behind you?"

Chris shook his head slightly. "Kurt was having a hard time waking Blaine up."

Finn chuckled and nodded his head in agreement. "Yeah, that guy sleeps like the dead."

"Hey dad." Carson added with a smile. "There's your zombie."

Everyone laughed whole heartedly as they started to move and pack up the sight a little bit. Chris stood too and started to walk back towards the tents. "I'm going to grab a jacket. I'll see if I can help get them moving."

Chris walked back down the path towards the little clearing filled with tents. Without hesitation, he went over to the one he shared with Rachel and hurriedly grabbed a sweatshirt from one of his bags. He then walked over to Finn and Blaine's tent and zipped it open in one quick motion. It wasn't until he had fully climbed into the tent that he really took a look at what was going on inside.

His immediate response was to gasp in shock when he got a good look at the position Kurt and Blaine were in. Kurt straddled Blaine in the half-zipped sleeping bag, while Blaine had an arm wrapped around Kurt's waist and had a hand in a back pocket in his jeans. They had both lost their shirts and were frozen in shock as well as they stared back at Chris in disbelief.

Chris had no clue what to say other than to quickly mention that they were all heading out in a few minutes. He then backed out of the tent and walked swiftly back down the path to join the others. He waited with them for a couple more minutes until Kurt and Blaine finally joined them.

Together, they all started down another path that would take them to the lake.

I am having so much fun writing this little camping expedition story. Let me know if you guys are enjoying it too, or if you'd rather I moved on to another. I still have quite a few things I want to do with this though so expect another chapter or two to be a continuation of this one. Then again, aren't all of the chapters just part of one giant story? Thanks for reading!! <3
