His Secret

Steve: He sometimes can't handle fighting and losing people, even though he says he loves it or doesn't care. He usually acts like he's happy to let people go, but in reality he regrets fighting and he wants those people back. He hates losing people that mean something to him.

Two-Bit: He tries so hard to fit in and be friends with everyone and he changes who he is himself, but would rather change than be alone, because being alone is extremely scary to him.

Ponyboy: He tries to act happy all the time. He feels like if he lets others see him upset, he's disappointing them. He needs to make sure everyone around him doesn't worry about him, no matter what the cost.

Sodapop: He can't be without a lover because he needs to invest time in others so he doesn't have to focus on himself. He hates having to deal with his own problems so he hides them and pretends everything is fine.

Dally: He is scared of getting close to people. He loves being trusted by others but has a hard time trusting others. He is afraid one day this will push everyone away but he doesn't know how to fix it.

Darry: He invests himself in trying to get to the top, so he tends to not have deep connections with anyone. He's afraid because of this that he'll be alone forever.

Johnny: He actually has no idea what he's doing in life and day dreams to make himself feel better. He is lost and confused but acts like he has everything under control and hates asking for help.
