I had a dream. It doesn't seem like that should be out of the ordinary but I haven't had a dream my whole life. At least not that I remember.
In my dream there was a women dressed in a red toga with dark hair like mine. She smiled and said, "Well hello my daughter. Quite the show you put on today."
"Hecate?" I asked.
"Yes." She replied. "I came to give you something. Well multiple somethings.
I couldn't believe it, here she was. I hadn't seen my mother my whole life. I had so many questions to ask but being around her I was speechless.
She pulled out an envelope, a circle thing, and a leather covered book.
"Here." She said handing me the circle thing. I quickly realized it was just like the symbol shining above my head earlier. It was made out of some type of metal and the star in the middle was glowing and it was small enough to fit in a pocket.
"Try pressing the star." She said
I pressed down it and it transformed into an ivory wand.
"That will help you cast spells. Plus you can change it into any weapon. All you have to do is imagine the weapon in your hand instead of the wand. Then you can change it back."
I tried this and turned it into a sword, nearly stabbing Hecate. After that I turned it backed into the wand.
"How do you turn it back into the... circle thing?" I asked.
"Just touch the tip of the wand of sword or whatever it is turned into. Also by the way the circle thing is called Hecate's wheel.
Next hecate handed me the leather book.
I opened it and inside there were like 5 pages that all had a strange glow to it.
"That's not a lot of pages." I noted.
"Well you don't need a lot." She said. "You need one page to look up greek words and how to pronounce them and you need the rest to do drawing magic. The first page is the one where you look up greek words. What you have to do is say the word to the page and it will show up in greek and will say it out loud."
I tried it out saying, "Zoe." It showed up as Ζωή which sounds like zoo-e.
"The rest of the pages," Hecate continued, "are for drawing. As you experienced earlier, once you draw whatever you're drawing and say the word the drawing disappears from the page and the magic makes it come to life.
"Why are there 4 pages for that?" I asked.
"Sometimes you might want to save some of your drawings for later but still have to have room for more drawings. She replied.
"I guess that makes sense." I replied. "I have a question, do I have any brothers or sisters and if I do can they do the same type of magic as me."
"Yes you do have some siblings but none of them can do drawing magic. Also none of your siblings are at the Albany Academy." She said
"Where are they?" I asked.
"And that brings me to the letter. You will be waking up soon and as soon as you do read this letter. You can chose to go to this place and if you do Logan will help you." She handed me the letter. "Have a good training day tomorrow and good luck at Camp Half Blood."
I woke up with a start.
