"Hi." I said to Flynn meeting up with him.
"Hey. I got you a present." Said Logan handing me something wrapped in purple wrapping paper. "Open it."
Inside it there was a map of camp half blood and a sword. The sword was beautifully crafted. The handle was made out of oak wood and had many carvings on it. It had a trident, lightning bolt, dove, fire, hecate wheel, and so on. It had a celestial bronze blade. It also had a sheath with a strap to put around my back.
"Thank you this is beautiful."
"I made it myself. I did the symbol for each of the 12 olympians plus 8 more for the other cabins. It is said that each god that has a carving on the sword will help you in battle when you are using the sword."
"You want to go do something?" He asked.
"Sure." I said following him. He was already moving fast. At first he was just fast walking but then he starting jogging. I could keep up but I could tell he was going slow. We ran through the woods and I quickly got lost but he seemed to know where he was going.
We stopped at a mountain. Well I guess it was a little small to be a mountain. It was a really big, really really tall and steep rock.
He started climbing. I admired how he found the smallest of cavities in the rock for hand and foot holds.
Following his lead I started climbing. It was really hard to climb. Harder than the rock wall earlier. This was much taller. I climbed and climbed. I didn't realize how long I was climbing for but I when I stopped at a good place to sit down to take a breather I looked down. I must have been hundreds of feet in the air. Flynn was almost to the top, far above me. I started climbing again. After I had climbed for a while longer, I saw a rope drop down. I tied the rope around my waist hoping it would help me if I were to fall. I wasn't afraid of heights but I didn't want to die. I climbed until I finally got to the top. I nearly fell on my face and was breathing heavily.
"Congratulations you made it to the top." Said Flynn. "Are you hungry."
I nodded my head still breathing too heavily to talk.
He took out a variety of fruits and two sandwiches. I took some of the food happily eating it. "This is good." I said.
"The fruits are homegrown from the Demeter cabin. Besides the strawberries which are grown in the fields." Said Flynn. "I come up here a lot. It is how I got so good at climbing. Usually at night. It's kind of my spot. You are the first person I have brought up here."
"This is awesome. I hope you know the way back." I said joking.
"Oh, don't worry, I do. I have a question. You seem to know a lot about yourself yet your memories are stolen. So how do you know?"
I thought for a moment. What if what I thought about myself was fake.
"It's like I don't know my backstory. I think my personality traits are real but what I know about my life isn't. It's confusing."
"I think I kind of understand. I hope your quest gets you your memories."
"Me too. Just wondering do you have a fast way of getting down?"
"Yeah." He said walking over to the opposite side of where we climbed up. There was two trees with 2 ropes tied to it. One of the ropes that I had tied around my waist earlier. He tied me in with a complicated knot and did the same for himself.
"Let's repel."
I followed his lead jumping off the cliff and slowly getting down. Once we got to the bottom I untied myself and we started heading back to camp half blood. It took a while but soon enough I could see the lights of Camp Half blood. He wished my goodnight and we parted to our cabins.
