Capture the Flag Preparations

This chapter will switch between perspectives.

Zoe

I woke up in the Hecate cabin to my siblings organizing their potions.  Wow they really took this seriously.  Staying up late and waking up early.

"Breakfast is in 30 minutes.  You can get dressed and ready within that time."  Said Cole.

"Ok, thanks."  I replied

I walked into the bathroom area.  I took a quick shower, brushed my teeth and put my hair in a side french braid.  Just as I finished we started heading for breakfast.  When we got there everyone seemed really excited for the day ahead of us.  Everyone was talking to the neighbors.  Some kids were sharpening weapons and checking armor.  Kids at another table were looking at a map.

"Welcome."  Chiron said stomping his heel.  "I understand you are very excited for today's capture the flag.  The Roman's will be coming around lunch time.  The Athena cabin will explain the strategies we have for capture the flag while we are eating.  Now, let's eat!"

We got our food and sat at our tables.  After a little while the Athena cabin started talking.

Annabeth

As I finished my blue pancake, which Percy insisted on making me eat, I went up to talk about the strategies we had.  I had been up all night making the final arrangements and now I was certain what I was going to do.  I decided to take some of Logan's advice for the diversion.  Although I changed a few things.

"The Athena campers and a few other helpers have been helping us plan for what we are going to do.  We are going to have 5 groups.  The first group will be offense.  That will have Ares; Artemis, which are the hunter's of Artemis; Nike; and Nemesis.  The second group will be hiding while guarding the flag.  This will be Hypnos, Zeus, Aphrodite, and Iris.  The third group will be in plain sight defense.  This will be Apollo, Hades, and Hebe.  The fourth group will be trappers.  This will be Hephaestus, Hermes, Tyche, and Dionysus. The final group will sneak around looking for the flag.  We will have Athena, Poseidon, Hecate, and Demeter.  I will talk with the group on what we are going to do.  All the other groups if you have questions ask one of the Athena kids."

No one seemed particularly confused which was good.  I went back down and sat next to Seaweed Brain, who kissed me on the forehead.

"We're gonna win this Wise Girl."  Percy said.

Leo

Annabeth knew what she was talking about.  She memorized that whole thing.  The only thing I bothered to memorize was that I was a trapper.  I had already suspected I would be, so me, Calypso, and my siblings had been setting up traps.  Calypso has been super helpful.  She has already made every Hephaestus camper fire proof clothes.  She should probably be part of the Demeter cabin though because she is a great gardener.

I walked up to my cabin where Calypso was watering the plants she put all around the cabin.  I spun her around and kissed her, princess style.

"What's up?"  She asked me.

"Nothing much.  We're going to be trappers so get the greek fire ready!!!"

"Okay Leo but try not to explode, or burn anyone alive today."

"You got it."

I pulled out a tablet I designed myself.  It controlled all the traps around the battlefield.  I had been planning and designing this for months.  I was ready.

Melody

I was going to be on defense, which in my opinion was not the most fun job.  It made sense though.  The Apollo kids would keep the Romans back with our arrows.  Bianca was complaining about how we always got defense and never got to do offense.  Personally I think she just wanted to hang out with Tom.

Bianca, the rest of the Apollo kids, and I went to meet up with our group for capture the flag to talk about what we were going to do.  We met up at the archery range.

"The Apollo kids will use their bows to keep intruders back."  Said Will.  "Nico will use his underworld magic to keep them back and the Hebe cabin will do whatever they can to keep them back."

"Alright good planning, let's go back to our cabins now." Said Bianca.  Everyone seemed to agree and went back to the camp.

Zoe

Group 5 all went to the Athena cabin to see what we were doing for capture the flag.

"Okay welcome everybody."  Said Annabeth.  "We are going to be sneaking around looking for the flag.  To help with that we are going to have the Hecate cabin bend the mist and disguise us into the woods."

"Our whole group?"  Asked Lou Ellen.

"We can have the whole group or split up the group.  Whichever works better."  Said Annabeth.

"There are four of us and about 20 of you.  We could split into 4 groups of 5.  That way we have a higher chance of getting the flag and it will be easier to disguise."  I said.

"That could work... but Zoe do you even know how to bend the mist?  Said Cole.

"Yeah.  I have done it a lot.  Watch and learn."

I pointed to a bookshelf in the cabin and started using the mist.  I made it look like it wasn't even there and it was just the wall.

"Nice.  But can you do that with 5 people?"  Asked Percy.

"Let's see."  I said choosing 4 other people and myself.  I imagined it in Annabeth's view that we weren't even in the room.

"It worked.  I wish I could do that."  Percy mumbled under his breath.  

"Get over it."  Said Annabeth.

"The Demeter cabin can also help us disguise in the woods.  They can talk to the trees to make us not look obvious and in plain sight."  Said Percy.

We divided up into groups of 5.  I had Percy, Annabeth, Katie Gardener, and Malcom in my group. 

Logan

We met up in Cabin 9 (Hephaestus Cabin) and talked about what we were going to do.  Leo split us into groups of 4 and each gave us something that looked like an xbox remote, except it only had one button in the middle.

"Push the button."  Leo order us.

I did and it transformed into something that looked like a tablet.  On it there was a map of camp half blood with green dots all around it.  

"The green dots are traps.  Once the Romans arrive there will be red dots.  If you see any Romans close to the green dots just press on it and with luck they will be trapped."  Said Leo.  "Be very careful with this and don't touch any buttons till the beginning of the game.  Just in case I'm going to lock them all until the beginning of the game."  He said pushing a button on his tablet.
