The Crossroads: The Stolen Memories

The Campfire

I kept saying the prophecy in my head over and over again so I wouldn't forget it.  I walked over to the Apollo cabin with Bianca to meet up with her twin Melody.  

"How can I meet as many people at camp as I can in one day." I asked them.

"I suggest being friendly and outgoing."  Said Melody.

"Or you can help us lead the campfire songs tonight."  Said Bianca.

"Yeah well no will be able to hear you over Bianca's singing." Said Melody.

I laughed.  Maybe one of them would be willing to go on the quest.  Someone started walking up to us.  He had blonde hair and grey eyes.

"Hey Thomas the train."  Said Bianca.

"Don't call me that Bianca."  He said.

"That's Tom Clark.  He is a son of Athena." Said Melody.  And then she whispered to me, "Bianca totally has a crush on him."

I tried to imagine it.  They were complete opposites.  Bianca was one of the most outgoing and crazy fun people I had met so far.  From what I could tell Tom was stiff and seemed more like a reading type of person.

For the rest of the day I met with people and tried to be as friendly as I could be.  Everyone seemed pretty cool but I really wanted either Bianca or Melody to go on the quest with me.  I would have to ask them.

Logan came up to me with the goofiest grin and whispered in my ear, "We're gonna prank the Aphrodite cabin do you wanna come." 

"What's the prank gonna be?" I asked him.

"We're gonna put a cheap ring in the Aphrodite cabin and write, for the one who deserves to be loved the most because they are gorgeous.  Or something like that.  Maybe it will be a proposal we haven't figured it out yet for sure."

"Okay I'll come but I have a question.  If I were to ask you to go on the quest with me would you come?"

He considered it for a few seconds and then looked deep into my eyes with that goofy grin again saying, "Oh course I will do it.  We got to stick by each other's sides from now on right?"

"Yes, of course." I replied.

"Who else are you going to ask on the quest?" He asked me.

"I'm thinking either Melody or Bianca Summers."

"That's cool." He replied.

"When are we gonna prank the Aphrodite cabin?" I ask him.

"After the campfire when we discuss the quest.  The Aphrodite kids tend to stay a little longer and talk with their girlfriend or boyfriend.  Also you should meet Connor and Travis Stoll.  They are the best pranksters ever!"

I laughed.  "Okay."

The rest of the day passed by and we finally had dinner.  I sat at the Hecate table with a few other campers.  The senior counselor was named Lou Ellen.  I had another sister named Carrie Miller and a brother named Cole Scott.  They said we had another brother named Alabaster C. Torrington but he was banned from Camp Half Blood by the gods.  I had a good dinner although I wished we could sit anywhere we wanted to but I liked my siblings.  Chiron also announced about Logan and me being new here.

After dinner we had the campfire and we roasted marshmallows.  The Apollo cabin led the sing along songs and Melody was right Bianca was louder than everyone.  Melody rolled her eyes at Bianca.  Melody strummed the guitar and sang while Bianca sang with her.  I was practically enchanted.  They could convince me to do anything right now and I would do it.  There singing was magical and I knew a thing or two about magic.  The fire would change colors and everyone seemed to be in a good midsummer day afternoon.

Chiron stamped his foot, well horseshoe to get everyone's attention.  Hardly anyone listened to him though because everyone was so happy.  He looked at a girl with brown hair that had braids in it.  She was sitting with a guy that had blonde hair and piercing blue eyes like mine.  The girl said, "Everyone listen to Chiron."  Everyone fell silent and looked at Chiron.

"Thank you Piper." He said.  "We have been issued a quest today for Zoe Rivera.  She will start her quest on the 25th, which is 5 days from now. Zoe have you decided who you want on the quest?"

Everyone's eyes were on me.  Like I said before I have stage fright but this crowd was nothing compared to the Albany Academy.  

"I have already asked Logan and he said yes.  I want to ask one of the Summer's sisters to go with me." I said looking at them.  They looked each other as if mentally deciding who would do it.  They nodded at each other. "I'll do it." Says Bianca.  "Although I wish both of us could come." I looked at Chiron. He shook his head."

"We are going to need as many healers as we can within the time being that you guys are gone."  He said looking at Logan.

I didn't know what Logan was hiding but I promised myself to figure it out later. 

"Well it looks like we have our quest members chosen.  Remember everyone, the Romans are coming tomorrow for a game of capture the flag." Said Chiron.

"Don't forget about the dance too."  Said some girls.

"We're going to crush those Romans." I heard someone say.

"Yeah." Yelled the majority of people.  Everyone seemed very excited. 

Logan and I slipped away with some of the other Hermes kids during all the craziness.
