As Logan, Pete, and I walked to training I started to interrogate Logan. I didn't really mind that Pete was with us, for some reason I felt that I could trust him.
"What is Camp Half Blood and how can I get there?" I asked.
"How do you know about Camp Half Blood?" He asked.
"I had a dream." He seemed to understand. "Hecate visited me and gave me some presents."
"Camp Half Blood..." he started "is a camp for Greek Demigods. You can get there by traveling through the Labyrinth or above ground."
"The Labyrinth? Like the one in Crete in Greek mythology?" I asked.
"Yes," he said, "but now it is all around the world, not just Crete."
"How do I get to the Labyrinth?" I asked
"You are in the Labyrinth right now." Said Pete.
That left me speechless for a few minutes. It made so much sense, all the corridors and different places and how hard it was to get places without loosing all direction. Plus I was wondering where they were getting all this room underground.
"So that's why it'll be really dangerous to try to go to Camp Half Blood." I said with realization. "Isn't there a camp for Romans too?"
"Yeah." said Pete. "I've been there, it was a long time ago, they had a leader named Reyna and another named Jason."
"So if I left for Camp Half Blood would either of you come with me?" I asked.
"I'm not Greek and I like it here so no sorry." Said Pete.
"I'd help you go to Camp Half Blood but I probably wouldn't stay." Said Logan.
We walked in silence until we finally got to the training room. A lot of the 7th and 8th years were already there. There were two leaders who looked about Emma's age. One guy, one girl.
After a while of waiting while more people came in the girl leader said, "Welcome, for those of you who don't know me my name is Lindsey and this is Mark. Today we will be pairing up and fighting each other. You can use any weapons or magic items you have or you can borrow a weapon from the rack."
She pointed over to the rack full of weapons and armor.
"Want to pair up?" I asked Logan.
"Sure." He replied.
Once everyone was paired up Mark said, "Okay go get your weapons armor or whatever else you need and get ready to fight."
I pulled out my notebook and Hecate wheel. I walked over to the rack and grabbed some armor. It was heavy and hard to work with but I got it strapped on.
"Fighter's ready... set... go!." Said Lindsey now facing Mark and they started to fight.
I look at Logan and he gave me a pity look and unsheathed his sword. He had a sword strapped to one side and a dagger strapped to the other.
He started to get ready to hit me aiming his blade. I imagined my Hecate wheel as a sword just like Logan's. The wheel obliged and I deflected his blade.
He looked at me in a surprised way and kept fighting. I deflected every swing he took but I was quickly tiring and I Couldn't get a hit on him. He didn't look like he was close to getting tired.
As I deflected his every move I started to think of a plan. If I could get a moment to draw I could do some drawing magic. I know what to do.
I used my wings on my shoes to fly in the sky. I pulled out my notebook and started drawing. As I did so I saw Logan pull something out of his backpack. It was a golden staff with two fake snakes wrapped around it and wings at the top. I recognized it as Hermes staff but it wasn't the real one, it was too small to be.
As I kept glancing over at the staff I noticed it was starting to glow creating a sphere of light at the tip of the staff. He was aiming it at me.
I had to deflect the blast, I paused my drawing and turned the page quickly drawing a thick shield. The book told my shield meant ασπίδα and I said it. Perfect timing. As the blast came at me I deflected it with my shield and I realized it was a rope. It started wrapping around my shield and making way for my hand. I quickly dropped the shield and it was enveloped in all the ropes.
Logan was now looking frustrated and I continued my drawing in the air. Once I was finally finished I said κοράκια which means ravens. The drawing disappeared from the page and a flock of ravens were now in front of me. I realized they were waiting for commands.
"Attack him." I said pointing to Logan.
The ravens charged Logan and he slashed them out of the air turning them into dust but there were so many. I could tell it was a hard fight; the ravens were vicious and he was already tired.
"Surrender and they'll leave you alone." I told Logan.
He kept slashing at the birds. He was an amazing fighter, much more difficult to fight than the 5 warriors yesterday all together. Still the birds were overwhelming him. Maybe he would do another blast with his staff but I could tell that took a lot of energy out of him, plus he wouldn't have any time to do it.
"I surrender." He told me.
"Retreat." I told the birds and they vanished in mid air.
I flew to the ground and nearly passed out. I hadn't realized how tired that had made me. Some of the people around me helped me up.
"Good fight." Said Mark. "Are you sure you've never had any training before?"
"No." I replied.
"Well then," he said, "I think you two might need some rest."
I completely agreed.
