Dallon and Brendon rode to a pizza place called Max Mushroom, located right in the center of Maxburg. Brendon loved going there; the people were really cool looking, and had tattoos like his, although theirs usually covered their entire arm rather than part of it, like Brendon's.
Brendon had plans to get a sleeve, but it just wasn't finished yet.
Dallon, despite living in the Burg for his entire life, had never been to Max Mushroom. Brendon led him inside and they were greeted by a girl with bright purple hair and a tattoo on her neck. "Hi, welcome to Mellow Mushroom, just two of you?" She asked, and Brendon nodded with a wide smile.
She smiled back and led the two men to a booth against a wall, and said, "Can I take your drink orders?" Brendon ordered water, and Dallon did the same. She nodded and walked off.
"She seems cool." Brendon said, and Dallon nodded. "She's... intimidating." He said.
Brendon raised an eyebrow incredulously. "What?" he asked, and Dallon shrugged. "I guess cause I don't have any tattoos and I wouldn't ever dye my hair... I guess people that do stuff like that just seem so cool to me, and I know I'll never be a part of that... clique."
"I have tattoos, and I think you're awesome." Brendon said, smiling across the table at Dallon. Dallon smiled and blushed for about the millionth time since he'd met Brendon. "You can be a part of my clique." Brendon went on.
Their waitress walked back up to the table then, and set down their two glasses of water. "Okay guys, are you ready to order?" She asked, and Brendon nodded. "We'll get a large pepperoni and salami pizza with Hawaiian sauce." He said. The waitress nodded and walked off, leaving Dallon to wonder what exactly Hawaiian sauce was.
The two talked until their pizza arrived. Brendon watched as Dallon took the first bite of pizza, and widened his eyes. "I don't know what Hawaiian sauce is, but it's great." Dallon said, and Brendon smiled as he began to eat too.

Once they got done eating, Dallon and Brendon decided just to ride around, listening to music. Dallon drove them through Maxburg. The Burg's mostly city areas, but there were several back roads that they could take.
"There's nothing to do." Dallon complained dramatically, and Brendon rolled his eyes. He himself could think of several things to do, although most of them included getting shitfaced, and Brendon had sort of gathered that that wasn't really an everyday thing for Dallon.
"Wanna go swimming?" Brendon asked. It was June, and the summer heat was perfect for swimming in May's rock quarry. Dallon raised an eyebrow. "Where at?" He asked.
"There's a quarry in May kinda far out, not a lot of people know about it. It's private property, but I don't think anyone's ever got in trouble for being there. I go there all the time with my friends." Brendon explained, and Dallon nodded. "Yeah, that sounds good... tell me how to get there." He said.
"Sweet, drive back to May and I'll tell you from there." Brendon said.

Fourty-five minutes later, the two were parking Dallon's car on the side of a back road and climbing out. There were several other cars parked along the road as well, and Brendon recognized Spencer's and Gerard's. "Sweet, some of the guys are here." He said, and Dallon nodded as they began to walk down the thin trail that led to the rock quarry.
After a short walk, the trail widened out and opened into a large, flat piece of rock. Dallon looked around, amazed. He'd never seen a rock quarry before, and it was beautiful. The light gray rocks were cut smoothly, some of them high enough to create cliffs hanging over the clear, blue water.
Spencer and several other people were swimming in the water, and a few girls were sitting on the rocks.
"Brendon? Dallon?" Spencer called out over the noise of them all playing around in the water. "Dude! Come get in!"
Brendon smiled excitedly. Dallon was a little nervous though. "So... how deep is it?" He asked.
"Oh, probably like a thousand feet. The whole thing is where workers used to come cut the rocks to sell to people, and they hit a spring deep in the earth and it filled up. There's probably cranes and shit still at the bottom." Brendon said. Dallon fidgeted with the hem of his tshirt nervously.
"It's fine though, you'll be fine." Brendon said, noticing that Dallon seemed uneasy.
"I don't even have anything to swim in." Dallon protested.
Brendon raised an eyebrow suggestively, and said, "You don't need anything to swim in," as he pulled his shirt off, followed by his pants. Dallon's eyes widened when he realized that Brendon was probably going to strip right here and now. That boy sure did like being unclothed.
Brendon didn't take off his underwear though, although the tight, gray briefs didn't leave much to the imagination. Dallon stared at Brendon, sort of zoned out, until Brendon said, "Dal? You gonna get in?"
"Oh, uh... yeah." Dallon said, hesitantly pulling his shirt over his head. Dallon had never been extremely comfortable with the way he looked, always feeling awkward with his excessively tall form and squishy stomach. He kicked his shoes off anyway though, followed by his pants, and set them with his shirt beside Brendon's clothes.
He stood awkwardly with his arms wrapped around his stomach as he felt Brendon's eyes sweep over his body, before the smaller boy said, "Come on! Let's get in."
Dallon followed Brendon slowly to the edge of the water. Brendon jumped into the clear, blue water without hesitation, but Dallon carefully stepped down the rocks until he got to the edge, then slid in gingerly.
The water wasn't freezing, it actually felt good in the hot summer weather. Dallon noticed about twenty other people around his age in the water, as well as more people on the rocks. One side of the quarry had a high cliff of rocks, and some people were climbing up the cliff, while people at the top jumped off. It looked like a lot of fun, but for some reason, Dallon just felt out of place.
"Dal, come over here!" Brendon called out, and Dallon made his way over to where Brendon was with Spencer and a couple of other people who were familiar. They were all standing in a part where they could still touch the bottom.
"Hey, Dallon, how's being off school for ya?" A girl that Dallon knew as Sarah asked. He nodded, and said, "Uh yeah, pretty good. Fun so far." He looked at Brendon, who smiled at him.
