A Little Laughter Left In Me... (Laughing Jack x Reader)

~The final day..~

You woke up to a warm furry face nuzzling against your own, you giggled.

"Good morning Miles! Did you sleep well?" You asked him with a grin and sat up.

Miles barked happily and bounced a bit.

You stretched your arms a bit and grabbed your phone to see what time it was as per usual.

-10:40 A.M. Friday-

You got a notification on your phone.

Reminder: "Laughing Jack trip tommorrow!" Your eyes widened.

"Oh man! It's already been almost a whole week!" You thought.

As if that wasn't enough, you ended up getting a call from Alex.

"Oh boy, I can just guess what she's gonna say this time." You smirked.

You crossed your legs as you put the phone to your ear and answered.

"Woohoo!! We're going to England tommorrow!!" Alex cheered excitedly.

"We sure are, heh." You chuckled somewhat nervously as you looked at Miles and realization hit you.

"What do you mean 'heh'?? Tommorrow is the big day we've been wating all this time for!  Is something wrong?"

"Well.." You paused.

"I...got a dog yesterday."

"WHAT!! Really??? Awww!!" You out of instinct moved your head away from the phone before she replied, and of course were very glad you did.

"Yeah..His name is Miles." You continued as you held Miles closer to you and pet his soft grey head.

"What a cute name! Can I see him?" Alex was more or less begging so you decided to show her a picture.

You put your phone in camera mode while still on the line with Alex and put it towards Miles, he seemed curious and tilted his head and furrowed his brow.

"Don't worry boy, a dear friend of mine wants to see what you look like, could I take a picture of you?" You asked him sweetly.

He ruffed and sat in front of the phone with his usual big blue eyes and blank face.

"Okay..taking the picture now.." You quickly took the picture and sent it to Alex.

"Awwwwww!! He's so cute!!" You heard Alex squeal afterwards.

"He sure is." You agreed as you leaned over to him and snuggled his forehead slightly, recieving a tiny smile and a tail wag from him.

"I'm wondering if we could maybe bring him with us on the plane..but I'm worried we probably don't have the extra cash for that.." You sighed.

"Oh c'mon! You really think I won't have your back?" Alex asked sarcastically. "I'll pay for him to be transported with us!"

"R-Really?? Thanks Alex!"

"Anything for my best girl!" She laughed.

"Say, it'll probably take a little while, but how about you and Henry come over to meet Miles?" You were a bit unsure since you've seen Miles' untrusting side up close.

"Sure! I'll tell Henry about it and show him the picture."

"Alright, see you later then." You hung up the phone.

Miles walked over and crawled into your lap curling himself up, facing you.

You grinned and softly pet his head, occasionally stroking his soft pointed ears, you remembered the note Jerris gave you about him.
