You spent another half an hour or so just quietly talking with Jason and Jack, then Jack decided it was time for you to come back with him.
He gently brought you up to your feet and took you by the hand, guiding you out of the room after you both said your goodbyes to Jason and Mr. Bunny.
He opened the door for you and closed it behind you both as you walked along the corridor, then did the same for that door.
Once you were back in the basement, Jack once again took your hand and led you up the stairs. But, due to the darkness of the room despite having your flashlight, you accidentally tripped on a step. You had your eyes squeezed shut waiting to slam into the other steps, but instead you were met with a long, silk-sleeved arm holding you up.
You looked up at Jack even though his eyes were the only thing you could really make out in the darkness, and they seemed to have a protective look in them.
"Are you okay?" He asked as he carefully moved you back up on the steps, his arm still securely wrapped around your torso.
"Yes, thank you." You smiled.
You could tell he was smiling back, but what surprised you was that he suddenly lifted you up and brought you closer, putting his other arm under your legs while the previous one held you by your back.
"This way you won't trip up again." Jack winked, then resumed his way up the stairs.
You could feel your face burning up. You weren't used to being held like this, much less by Jack, but you had to admit it felt pretty nice.
He opened the door to the basement by extending his arm that held your legs, then he carefully stepped through and closed it behind him. He had to duck down a little since the pantry was a bit too small for him to stand up straight in. He went through the pantry doors and closed them as well after he set your flashlight where it belonged, then you were both greeted by a familiar grey hound.
"Hey, Miles." You smiled, trying not too look too embarrassed that you were still being held.
"Howsit hangin' poochy?" Jack giggled, earning an eye-roll from Miles.
"Oh hey, Jack! Didn't know you were here!" Will said, walking into the kitchen.
"When do you ever know?" Jack grinned.
Will shrugged with a small laugh, then walked back into the living room, sitting on the couch. Miles followed suit and lied down next to him.
"Um... y-you can put me down now..." You managed to say, even though you still kinda liked being carried.
"Hmm... I could... But I don't want to!" Jack laughed, lifting you up a little so he could nuzzle your head with his.
"Oh, well, okay then." You thought, blushing again.
He walked over to the chair by the couch and sat in it, setting you in his lap but keeping his arms around you.
"So, (Y/n), how'd you sleep?" Will asked after a moment, not feeling the slightest bit awkward about Jack's actions towards you as per usual.
"I slept pretty well, thank you. How about you?" You replied, shifting a little so that you could look at him better.
"To be honest with ya, I haven't slept as good as I have since I first came here in years! A guy like me would pay a lot more than just money to get as much rest as I have thanks you lettin' me stay here. I really owe ya one." Will chuckled.
