Around six in the morning your father was at your door with breakfast, and you ate together on your bed. You discussed the tire's repair(which Arthur was currently taking care of), the gifts, and what you would do once you got home. After you both finished eating your father left the room to give you time to grab your coat and luggage, and you used what little time you had to think some things over.
First, you pondered just how you were going to have Jason make the bracelet, you'd need to come up with a specific design and see if he had all the right materials, plus you'd have to make sure Jack wasn't around to see him making it, or the surprise would be ruined. Then you realized a much higher level of stealth was necessary for Jeff's 'present', you'd need to come up with a clever tactic to make sure he doesn't find him. Lastly, you had to figure out the nicest gifts for all the others, something that shows how important they all are to you, and that you value your friendship with each and every one of them.
You sighed heavily as you concluded with the fact that you had lots to do before that special day, and left the room with your things in tow.
"Jason is gonna be my lifesaver one way or another." You smiled shakily to yourself as you walked down the stairs.
You saw your father waiting by the doors, tapping his foot rhythmically as he listened to music on his phone. It was playing 'Jingle Bells', one of his favorite Christmas songs. You smiled wider as you remembered when he used to play those songs at full blast in the house when you were little, he'd do it to add more excitement to decorating the place and baking cookies. Eventually your mom got fed up with it though, so he started playing them much quieter and only raised the volume when she wasn't home. You had to admit, you missed the days when life was simple like that.
You reached the bottom of the stairs and approached your father, tapping his shoulder to get his attention since he was apparently lost in the song. He chuckled, turning to face you.
"I think I'm about ready to have a nice long nap in my own bed. How about you?" He said.
You sighed, nodding in agreement. "That sounds nice..." He smiled in understanding and looked back to the doors, and you bit your lip as you thought to yourself:
"...Especially when home is where everyone else is."
You waited another ten minutes before a cold, tired looking Arthur came inside, pushing his snow-littered hoodie off his head and offering you both a polite smile.
"All four tires are ready to roll."
Your father was practically beaming, and despite that Arthur was covered in snow he brought him in for a hug.
"Thank you so much for this, Arth." You heard him say, and you couldn't help but smile.
Arthur looked touched, gently returning the hug and chuckling slightly.
"Of course. Just get home safe, okay? And tell your wife I said 'hello'."
The two patted each-other on the backs before pulling away and nodding, then your father motioned for you to follow as he went towards the door with his luggage.
"Let's get moving, (Y/n)!"
Just when you were about to follow, Arthur stopped you by placing a hand on your shoulder.
"I hope you cherish the people you have in your life, (Y/n). You were raised by a good couple, a pair that would risk life and limb for you." He stated quietly, glancing at you from over his shoulder.
You nodded, keeping your smile on your face.
"I do cherish them all, I promise. Thank you for helping us despite your situation, it was very kind of you." You told him, and he gave you a silent nod before gently patting your shoulder with his fingers, then he released you and walked away.
