The smell of death filled the entire room...

But for some reason, it didn't bother your nose as much now, probably because you smelled it ever since you first entered the house.

After what felt like an eternity, you shook your head violently, and tried to look around the room, since you weren't exactly able to get out now you thought you might aswell know your surroundings.

It was pretty clear Alex and Henry weren't in the room, not a single ray of light other than your own was present.

The walls were coated in red splatters, and some were written in words you couldn't quite read.

"W... What in the world happened here...?" You whispered in fear as you slowly walked around the room. Even Miles looked scared of the sight.

You looked to one side to see something that looked like a bed of some kind, but it was wooden, and it didn't look like something a person would sleep on. Infact, it looked like something someone would use to torture somebody! And upon closer inspection, you found this theory correct, the boards were coated in a dark red, from what you could only assume was many more kills than just one.

Suddenly, you heard a loud crash come from behind you.

"WOAH!" You yelled, jumping forward and spinning around to look at where the noise came from. You looked at the wall to see that a shelf had broken off, and all that was on it had fallen to the floor.

You looked at Miles to see that he was pretty startled aswell, and you gave him a few good pats on the head.

You walked over to the fallen shelf and crouched down to get a closer look, shining the flashlight on everything.

There was numerous things, like little toy soldiers and a small wooden horse. But what stood out the most, was a box that was in the center of it all. You raised an eyebrow at this, and you slowly picked up the box, turning to one side and putting it on the ground infront of you.

Miles gave the box a few sniffs of inspection before backing away and sitting infront of you to watch, giving the box a hard look of uncertainty the entire time.

The box had a painted picture of a clown on it, along with other designs, and carved happy clown faces on the side. Some of the paint was chipped off and the wood had a few splinters on it, it must have been around a long time since it was in this house. You looked on the top of the box to find a dusty engraved text. You brushed off some of the dust and shined the light on it.

"L...Laugh...ing...J...Jack...i...in...a...box.." You paused.

'Laughing Jack in a box?' You and Miles looked at eachother for a moment.

'Wait...haven't you heard that from somewhere?'

Your eyes went wide.

This box has the same words written on it, that Laughing Jack's box did.

"It couldn't be... could it?" You thought.

After a moment in your thoughts, you noticed an old rusted crank on the side opposite of the carved clown faces.

You didn't know if it would be a good idea, but you decided to give it a shot anyway, you had never used a Jack-in-the-box of any kind when you were little, so it was kinda new for you.

Which was why you accidentally turned the crank the wrong way at first.

"Oops." You whispered flatly.
