"J...Jack..." You struggled to utter a word, fearing what would happen.

Jack didn't speak, he just stood there looking at you. His face was hard to see in the darkness of your room, but you could tell he was frowning, his skin was so white it was just barely visible. His eyes were the only clear thing you could see, his white irises shined with what was unmistakably a look of hurt.

You gulped and sighed, resisting the urge to hide in the corner of your room you stood up. You couldn't continue to look at his face though, so you just looked down at the ground.

You gulped again and mustered up all the strength you had to talk.

"J-Jack, I... I-I'm so sorry about what I said, i-it was just that... I was told to think about some things and I ended up not being sure if you really c-cared... I'm really sorry, I understand if you're still angry at me and I know you'll never forgive me-!" You were cut off by arms wrapping around you like soft rope, you squeezed your eyes shut in fear but you re-opened them in surprise when your body was pulled to Jack's.

Jack held you tightly to his chest, his head nuzzling itself on top of yours, you had to admit you really missed that. And even though you were still worried, you felt so happy to hear his voice again, surprisingly, it was soft and quiet.

"(Y/n), when I said I would never be angry at you, I meant it. When you told me those words that night before you ran off, I had this terrible pain in my chest, I thought that perhaps you didn't want to be my friend, but now I know that wasn't the case, I'm the one who should be sorry. I...I missed you so much..." You could hear his voice slightly tremble at the last part, and his grip tightened ever so slightly.

You couldn't help but smile, knowing that Jack wasn't angry, and that he had actually missed you.

"I missed you too, Jack." You pulled your arms out of his grip and put your arms around him, returning his hug.

After a few minutes, you both pulled back and looked at each other, Jack was now smiling with a both relieved and happy look.

"How have you been doing kiddo? Been well?" He asked.

You both walked back to your bed and sat down on it.

"I guess it could've been worse. I had a lot of scary stuff happen, I wish you could have been there.." You sighed.

Jack's look became concerned.

"Tell me what happened."

You then explained everything that had happened in the last few weeks, making sure he didn't miss a single detail about Jane, and how just minutes ago she and Jeff were battling it out. You left out the part where you met Jason though, you wanted to save that for later.

Jack's face became full of worry and shock.

"Oh Gumdrop I... I'm so sorry I didn't come here sooner.." Jack pulled you close to him again, this time in a way that resembled a father holding their crying child in his arms.

"It's okay, Jack. But... if you really weren't mad, then why didn't you come back to visit me sooner?"

Jack sighed and looked down at you.

"I guess you could say... I was afraid.." His eyes went downcast.

"Afraid? Why?"

"Because, after what happened between us, I was worried that you would be unhappy to see me again. But just this evening, I remembered something Will told me and decided I had to come back. I had no idea you felt as guilty as I did though..." Jack responded with a soft frown.
