Jeff pulled out his knife as Jane charged at him, the blades collided and the two made eye contact.

They were in stalemates with one another, still for a moment just staring, taking in the other's features.

You didn't know what to do.

Should you try to stop them?

Would they listen to you?

Could you even get near them at this point?

Miles looked just as stunned at what had just happened.

How did Jane come back so quickly? Wasn't she supposed to be gone for a while? When did she even get back into the house??

As your mind asked itself these questions Jeff and Jane separated and each took a step back, you could hear Jeff give a small hostile growl.

"(Y/n), get out of here. NOW." Jane ordered.

You knew you had to listen, for you and Jeff's sake.

You grabbed Miles and ran out of the room, as you reached the staircase you looked back to see Jeff watching you with a protective gaze. You gave him a nod and turned away, quickly going down the stairs.

You tried to think of where you should go, maybe hide somewhere in the house?

"Well, there's the basement for one thing." You thought.

Oh, did I not mention? There's also a basement in the house.

You ran in kitchen to what used to be a pantry, your parents had the pantry turned into a secret doorway to a basement they wanted to add in, in case there was some type of emergency like a break-in and you needed to hide.

No one would bother to check a pantry!...

...That's what they told you.

You set Miles down and pulled out the doors revealing another door with a thin layer of dust on it, surprisingly the basement hadn't been needed nor used in a while.

You grabbed one of the flashlights your dad had stashed inside, it was most likely pretty dark down there since the lightbulb in there was probably dead.

The last time you went in was when you were a child, you were convinced that it was a secret hideout for monsters at night so you never went down after that.

You opened the basement door and used the flashlight to look down into the nearly pitch black lower floor, the staircase was hardly visible.

Miles went first since he was able to see.

You gulped and shut the closet doors, then the basement one as you took a few steps in.

As you and Miles went down you noticed how cold it was, of course that had to be from the cold weather, and since the basement wasn't used very much your parents probably didn't see the need to keep a heater in it.

Once you reached the bottom you tried your best to take in your surroundings.

There wasn't much, there was a few extra storage boxes, some old toys that you had when you were little, and a--wait a minute is that a door?

You stopped upon seeing what was indeed a door at the very back of the basement.

You knew that wasn't right.

As previously remembered it was a long time since you were last in the basement, but you knew for a fact, that there wasn't a door there before.

You furrowed your brow.

Where could it have come from?

If your parents had gotten another attachment they would have told you about it, so it obviously wasn't supposed to be there.
