When I told Niall I had a job interview, I asked him to watch the girls. Plus, I asked him not to be scary, or rude to them, because it would cause Riley to runaway again. He promised, as I left for the bus that would take me straight to the shop.
When I arrived, the smell of oil and rusty cars filled the air. Yup, this surely is an auto shop. I walked into the front door, only to be greeted by a tall man. From where I was standing he looked like The Hulk.
"You Liam Payne?" He asked, as he walked towards me. I nodded, a small smile erupting on his face. "It's nice to meet you, boy. I'm Bill Smith. I own this shop," He said, as he introduced himself to me. He shook my good hand, before looking over his shoulder. "Jack! Come here!" Suddenly, a man who looked the same size as him appeared.
"Hi, I'm Jack Smith. I co-own this shop." He shook my good hand. They seemed to be nice.
"Tomlinson!" Bill hollered, causing a boy with a red beenie on his head to look up from the car he was working on. "Watch the shop, will ya? Jack and I have some business to do!" The boy nodded, before I followed the two to their office. As I entered the office, I sat in the chair, as they sat in the chairs in front of me.
"So, Liam, tells us a little about yourself." Jack asked me.
"Well, I'm nineteen. I attend UNI-"
"What are you studying up there?" Bill interrupted. I smiled.
"I'm studying Law."
"Hear that Bill, we got us a lawyer on our hands." Jack said, causing me to chuckle. I could get used to this banter. "I'm sorry, Liam, please continue."
"Well, actually, that was it really. I'm kinda boring." I replied, shrugging my shoulders. Jack and Bill exchanged looks, before turning their attention back to me.
"Do you know how to work on cars?"
"Umm, I've changed oil and tires when I owned a car. That's about it."
"Lucky for you, we have someone who is an excellent teacher. He'd be willing to give you a few tips and pointers," Bill said, as I nodded. "Quick question, though. What happened to your arm, boy?" He asked, as he pointed at me. I looked down at the blue cast, trying to think of something to say.
"I... Um... I was walking down a flight of stairs at UNI and fell, causing me to land wrong on it." I lied.
"Well, at least your alright. I guess we can have you work behind the main desk until your arm is healed." Jack said.
"Wait? I got the job?" I asked, maybe a little to excited. Both the men laughed at that excitement, as the stood up.
"You sure do, boy. Welcome to Rusted Work." Jack announced, as I shook both of their hands. "You start Monday morning at eight. Is that alright with you?"
"That's fine. Thank you very much." With that, I left the auto shop, caught the bus, and went home.
When I got home, Alice, Riley, and Niall were all watching the telly. The girls looked really content when they were watching the telly. I closed the door behind me, causing Niall to jump.
"Li-Liam has co-come home!" Riley yelled, as she jumped up from her spot on the floor and hugged me. I chuckled, as Alice followed her sisters' actions. Niall stood up and smiled at me, just as the girls moved away from me.
"So, how'd the interview go?" He asked me, before I watched the girls run back to the telly. I smiled, giving him a thumbs up. This then caused him to smile.
"Ri-Riley likes Ni-Niall now. He is kind to Al-Alice and Ri-Riley. Ni-Niall made pizza and let " I chuckle, before sitting on the couch beside the girls. Riley curled up beside me, as Alice curled up beside her. We watched the telly, until I decided to get up and make dinner. Once everyone was fed, dishes were done, and the girls were asleep, I focused on my school work. But, I didn't make it very far, because the instant I started studying, I drifted off to sleep.
