"What are your name?" I asked the girls.
Silence filled the air, besides the falling rain.I wanted to leave, but I couldn't just leave them here in the rain. They might get sick,or worse someone could find them and notice their ears and use them as experiments.
"Do you want to come with me, to a place that's a lot warmer than this alley?" They looked terrified and shock their heads no.
"I wont hurt you I promise. Plus you probably don't want to be left alone in this dark alley, now do you?" They nodded their heads and stood up, linking arms. One of them was taller than the other.
I linked an arm around the taller girl, she looked a lot older too. She hissed when she realized that my arm was linked with hers. I noticed that her ears disappeared too.
"It's alright, I'm not going to hurt you." Her ears reappeared. "We're going to run alright. It's cold and we don't want anyone to see...umm....your ears, yeah?"
I started to run through the dark, cold alley, dragging the girls with me. We turned right and made our way through people, walking the streets.
We got to Niall and I's flat quicker than I thought. I unlocked the door quickly and stepped inside with the girls.
"Niall I'm home!" I yelled. I sounded like one of those old television shows, where the husband walks though the door yelling 'Honey I'm home!'
"Thanks for hanging up on me." Niall replied, walking out of the kitchen. The girls hid behind me, so Niall didn't see them.
"Niall I'm didn't mean to, I'm sorry."
"Am I still important to you?"
"Yes Ni." I moved forward, so I could hug Niall, but a pair of arms wrapped around me.
"Whoa, either you just grew an extra pair of arms or that was a cool magic trick."
"Girls, it's alright. Niall wont hurt you." I ignored Niall's statement. The two teenage girls came out from behind me. They looked at Niall then, back to me.
"Are you two hungry?" They both nodded quickly. I led them into the kitchen, they still had their arms linked. I got two plates, two cups, the bread, and turkey out.
"What do you to drink?" I asked and the gave me blank stares. What do cats like? A light-bulb went off in my head. "Do you want milk?" The girls both nodded. I poured each of them a glass, and made them turkey sandwiches.
I placed the plates down on the kitchen table, in the next room, I went back to grab their glasses. I noticed that they followed my every step, right on my heels.
"You can sit right here and eat." I pulled two chairs out for them to sit.
"Li-Li can I speak to you real quick?" Niall asked from behind me.
"Stay here and eat I'm going to go talk to Niall,yeah." The older looking girl nodded her head. I walked into the kitchen with Niall.
"Liam you cant just bring two strangers into out home."
"Niall if i didn't they would get sick, could die, or someone else could find them, to do experiments."
"Experiments? Why would someone do experiments on two teenage girls?"
"Ni, they're different. They have cat ears on their heads. Didn't you notice that?"
"No I-" Niall got interrupted by glass breaking. I ran back into our dinning room. A bed of broken glass was laying on the floor beside on of the chairs. The girls were no longer sitting at the table, they were sat in the corner of the room. The younger girl had her head on the older girl shoulder. I heard sniffling sound, she must have been crying. The older was stoking at her hair to calm her down.
"It's alright, you don't have be scared. I clean the glass up, like nothing happen, yeah?" She lifted her head to look at me. I gave her a small smile.
I cleaned up the glass and threw it in the bin. The girls were right on my heel again. They must be freezing in those wet clothes. I went to go find them clothes, that would possibly fit them. I found two pairs of old sweatpants and jumpers, that I don't even wear anymore.
"Here, change it to this and when you're done hand me your old clothes. I handed the clothes to them. I walked out of my room closing the door behind me.
A couple minutes the door opened and they walked out. I got an armful of they rags they were wearing. The clothes were nicely folded. I threw the clothes in a bin. I wasn't going to let them wear those clothes again.
I sat down on our couch, Niall was already watching the telly. The girls sat beside me, they curled up together and fell asleep.
