**Third Person**
-Three Days Later-
When Louis and Alice were transferred to a remote location on the outside of London two days before, the two hybrids were trusted to walk around the room their were locked in. The room was small, yet big enough for a bathroom to be connected off of it.
There were no windows, leaving the room in almost complete darkness. The only light they had been given was the small lap sitting the corner of the room. The door leading to the hallway was locked from the outside, giving the two no chance to escape.
Louis sat in the corner of the room, watching the brunette sleep. Even though he'd only slept two hours since the day they were taken, he promised himself not to fall asleep. Because he knew if he were to close his eyes, they'd come and take Alice. And he wasn't about to let that happen.
He let his mind wander to the day they brought them to the abandoned warehouse. Once they'd undid the bindings they had on the two hybrids and left them alone, Alice huddled behind Louis in fear.

-Three Days Before-
"Your lucky Green's generous enough to let you walk around and what not." Paul said, as he pushed the hybrids into the small room and untied them. Louis growled at the muscular man, as Alice huddled behind the brunette, her hand tightly on his arm. "Don't growl at me, Tomlinson. I can still kill you. I don't care what you are."
"You touch Alice and I'll kill you. I mean it, Higgins."
"I'm not going to touch your little girlfriend, Tomlinson. But Green might." The man said, heading towards the door, and leaving, locking the multiple locks on the outside.
Louis rolled his eyes at the man, before turning around and looking at Alice, her eyes closed shut. Louis tried to get her to open her eyes, but she wouldn't budge. Her ears were hidden inside her hair, telling Louis that she was afraid.
"Alice is scared." She whispered to him, opening her eyes slowly and staring at him. Her eyes were glossy with tears, only causing him to feel even more guilty than he already was. "Alice is going to get hurt?" She asked, a tear streaming down her face. Without thinking, he wrapped his arms around the smaller girl and hugged her tight, forgetting that she wasn't one for hugging.
It surprised him when she hugged him back, her arms wrapped around his neck, her head buried into his shirt. That's when she lost it. That's when she realized she would never see Riley, or Liam, and the others again. And that terrified her.
"Nothing's going to hurt you. Not while I'm around. I promise." Louis said, as he tried calming her down by rubbing small circles on her back.
"What do we do now?" Alice sniffled, before pulling away from the taller brunette, as she wiped the tears from her eyes and walked towards one of the small beds in the room. Louis sighed, shrugging his shoulders and walking towards her. She took a deep breath, before falling face first into the pillow.
Louis sat on the open area of the bed and stared at her. Over the last few months, the dog hybrid had come to realize that he might have feelings for the brunette, despite the fact that she's a cat hybrid. Every time he closed his eyes, he saw her smile. His world was a dark place, that wasn't hard to figure out. But every time she smiled, his world would become a little brighter. His stomach always fluttered when he was around her, and she was just all-around beautiful. And just thinking about her made his heart race.
No matter how much Louis wanted to tell Alice that he liked her, he knew that she wouldn't say the same. Because in his mind, he knows that Riley had convinced Alice that dogs and cats don't mix. And that hurt him.
Louis was known as one to take chances. Granted he would most likely fail every time he took those chances. But he was willing to take that chance with Alice.
"Hey Alice?"
"What?" She mumbled into the pillow. Louis took a deep breath, before scooting closer towards her and cautiously resting his hand on her back.
"I.. I like you. Probably more than I should," This caused Alice to lift her head from the pillow, looking at Louis weirdly. "I know you probably don't feel the same way and you probably have no idea what I'm talking about. But I'm being completely honest with you. Like, I just can't stop thinking about you..
"Lately I've been asking myself 'Is it too much to ask for something great?'" He continued, his eyes locked on his hands that were laced together in his lap. "It took me a while to realize that your my something great," He added, before looking up at Alice, catching her gaze, her brown eyes making his heartbeat increase. "Your all I want. So much it's hurting."
Alice could feel her cheeks heating up. She had a strong indescribable feeling in her gut, something she's hasn't quite became used to yet. But every time she's around the taller brunette, she feels that same exact thing. She's watched many Disney movies, all of which the story ends in happily ever after. She believed in those and hoped that one day she'd finally get her own. But what if her happily ever after was with Louis?
Once Louis realized that his face was merely inches away from hers, he took a deep breath, before softly pressing his lips to her, sparks igniting almost instantly. He pulled away only moments later and just stared at Alice. Louis then felt a tingling feeling appear on his face, as Alice slapped him across the face. "I deserved and expected that." Louis agreed, causing Alice to nod.
An hour later, Alice fell asleep, leaving Louis to stand guard and protect.

-Present-
Louis was taken out of his little trance by the sound of thunder striking outside. He practically jumped out of his skin, the noise startling him. He looked at Alice, only to find her hugging her knees and crying.
"What's wrong, Alice?" He said, standing up from the floor and walking towards her.
"Alice is scared. Does not like thunder." She said, her voice shaking. Louis sat on the bed beside her and wrapped his arm around her waist, causing her to instantly huddle against him for protection.
"I'll keep you safe. I promise." He told her.
And he was dead serious about keeping that promise.
