**Niall**

"Li, you okay?" I asked, as I walked into the living room. He has yet to break his fever and he's became paler. The circles around his eyes were almost black, which was worrying me more everyday.

"No," He replied, hoarsely. He started talking this morning, but he still has a sore throat. Hell, he sounds like he's gargling nails. "I feel light headed, lonely, and like complete f***ing shit."

"I'm sorry, Liam," I replied, as I passed him another blanket. "I know you miss the girls. I miss them, too. But Louis said he would get them back today."

"I know." He said quietly, before curling up into a ball on the couch, pulling all four of his blankets over his head, and falling asleep.

I glanced at the clock on the wall, seeing the hands pointed one. I grabbed my phone and dialed Louis' number, pressing the phone to my ear.

"I'm ten minutes from your flat. I have them." He said harshly through the phone.

"Jeez, not even a 'hello'?"

"Nope." With that, he hung up. Well, that was rude. I sighed, throwing my phone onto the coffee table, before leaving the living room and entering the kitchen. With everything that has happened the last few days, it's been really quiet around the flat. Well, if you exclude Liam's coughing.

When I heard Louis' car pull up to the flat, I heard Riley and Alice giggling like little school girls. I pushed my arms off the counter, a wide smile on my face.

"Niall? Liam?" Riley yelled, as she entered the flat, Alice following behind her slowly. I smiled at her and Alice, as they ran up to me. They wrapped their arms around me tightly, causing me to do the same.

"Alice missed Niall and Liam." Alice said softly. Since when did we start talking in third person again? I pulled away from the girls, seeing big smiles on their faces. Riley ran into the flat, probably to wake Liam up.

"Alice, don't run around too much, okay?" I heard Louis say to the brunette, a bit of worry flooding through him. Alice nodded, before walking into the flat. He looked at me and shook his head. "Long story. Too long to tell now. I have to get back to work." With that, he ran to his car, and drove away.

He's one strange man.

**Liam**

"Liam. Must wake up." I heard someone say, as they gently poked my arm repeatedly. I shook my head, causing the throbbing pain to worsen, before curling up into a tighter ball. I heard the person lightly laugh, before resting their hand on me. I rolled over, before opening my eyes slowly, only to reveal bright emerald eyes staring at me.

"Riley?" I said hoarsely, causing her to gasp.

"Can talk now?! I-I missed yo-your voice." She said. I sat up from my position, wrapping my arms around her tightly. I pushed all the pain I was having to the side just to hug her.

"I missed you." I said, kissing her cheek. She blushed, before pulling away from the hug and telling Alice to come over. The brunette made her way towards us slowly, a wide grin on her face.

"Hi, Ali." I said, opening my arms for her to hug me.

"Hi. Voice back? Just like Ar-Ariel?" She said, causing me to chuckle and nod. She wrapped her arms around me, before pulling away and poking my cheek. "Alice missed Liam." She added, before walking into the kitchen to join Niall. I looked at Riley and asked why Alice was talking in third person again, only to have her tell me she's scared. I sighed, before laying back on the couch.

"Still sick I-I see. I am worried." Riley said, resting her hand on the top of my forehead. "Fe-feeling okay?"

"I don't know, Ri."

"Must sleep," She said, poking my nose. "Will talk later." She added, before patting my hand and walking away to join Alice and Niall in the kitchen.

Everything was back to normal. Almost.

**Louis**

-Few Hours Later-

I had picked Alice up from the flat around seven. The redhead had told Niall about the heart disease, so when I picked her up, he wasn't very surprised.

She was scared about what was going to happen. She kept asking me if it was going to hurt, but I couldn't give her an answer. She looked tired; like she could fall asleep at any moment. I wouldn't blame her though.

"Alice wants to go home." She said, her ears hidden in her hair.

"I know. But you need this. It'll make you feel better."

"Why is dog - Louis - so nice to Alice? Alice is cat."

"Your different. I like different." I replied, trying to stop my tail from wagging. Why did she have this affect on me?

When we pulled up to the lab, Alice walked behind me slowly, scared for what's to come.

"Green! You here?!" I yelled, as I walked through the door.

"In here." He replied, as Alice followed me to the room his voice came from. "You made it just in time. The device just showed up not ten minutes before you came. I have it set up and ready. All we need is Alice."

"Will not hurt Alice, right?" She said, her arms crossed.

"I told you before I wasn't going to hurt you." Green told her, before patting the hospital bed beside him, telling Alice to get on. She looked at me worriedly, before slowly sitting on the bed. "Louis, your gonna have a role in this, okay? Sit in the chair beside the bed until I tell you what to do." I agreed, although I was confused.

Once I was seated, the older redhead came in with alcohol pads, a vile, and a needle. If there was one thing I hated in the world, it was f***ing needles.

Green hooked Alice up to a bunch of machines, before walking over beside me and grabbing Alice's arm. "Alice, how are you feeling?"

"Alice feels dizzy."

"It's probably just the anesthesia kicking in. It's going to numb the pain," He explained, before looking at me. "Louis, I want you to take an alcohol pad and rub up and down her arm."

I did as he said and rubbed a pad up her arm. Green then took the needle, felt for a vein, and stuck it into her arm, causing me to flinch in the process. Green pushed buttons on the device, a soft humming noise coming from it. "And now the process begins."

-An Hour Later-

Alice was responding great to the device. She was taking what it was giving and from what Green has read from her vital signs, it was going away. Which was good.

Since she was a bit loopy from the medicine, she was humming Disney themes to occupy herself. It was quite amusing listening to her.

See? I'm not that much of a heartless bastard.

"According to this, it's almost completely gone. She should be allowed to leave here in an hour, or two." Green told me, his back facing me. "How are you feeling, Alice?"

"Room is spinning. Alice feels funny. Stomach ache."

"Is that a good thing?" I asked. He scrunched his face up, before looking back at the machine.

"When was the last time you ate?"

"Alice thinks-" Stopped talking mid sentence. Her face turned pale and she was shaking a bit. I jumped up from my seat, scared out of my mind.

"Green! What the hell is happening?!"

"Calm down, Tomlinson! I don't know! Give me a minute!" He yelled back.

I watched as Green tried to bring her blood pressure back to normal, along with her heart rate. I thought everything was going to be okay.

Until I heard the heart monitor hum a flat tune.
