They were looking for me, I couldn't believe that contrary to my other thoughts the GCPD were actually searching for me. Even better, Jim Gordon was on the case, he was the best detective in all of Gotham city and he was looking for me.

I trusted that he would be able to find me before the end of the week. Unlike the other cops in this city Jim wasn't dodgy, I had gotten to know him well enough after the whole Jerome incident... Well the first incident and he was definitely a good guy, always putting everyone else first. I knew full well that there was absolutely no way of getting out of this room unless I wanted to plummet however many stories to my death. I gave up for the night, figuring it was quite late considering the darkness of the sky.

I flicked the television onto another channel, the story being enough of the news I needed. I found a channel that played movies and decided that if I couldn't escape I may as well watch something to take my mind off the fact that I could potentially be murdered some time in the future. 'Zoolander' was only a quarter of the way through and it was one of my favourite so I pulled the covers over my body and payed attention to Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson prancing around like idiots.

I continued watching the movie until my eyes slowly began to shut and I was struggling to keep concentration. I don't know exactly when, but I know that sometime during the movie I fell into a deep, nightmare riddled sleep.

I woke up to Jerome barging in the door with a revolver, his maniacal smile looking the same as it had every time. He dragged my father in behind him, hands tied and mouth gagged with a pleading look across his features.

"You couldn't help yourself could you Kat?" Jerome asked fury evident in his voice.

"What?" I asked, completely baffled by the whole situation. What did my father have to do with any of this?

"You couldn't just love me, you had to go and inform your little police friend of your whereabouts. You couldn't be happy with how I was treating you could you?" Now I was utterly confused. I didn't talk to Jim or Edward or even my dad the whole time I was here.

"Jerome I didn't I swear, I haven't had contact with anyone I promise! Please let my dad go he has nothing to do with this!" I pleaded but the fury never left his face.

"Now you're lying to me! I could have been horrible to you and I didn't hurt you once! Now I think you need to learn the consequences of your actions... Starting with your father." Jerome raised the gun to my dad's temple and tears were running down my face.

"Jerome please! Dad I lo-" I didn't finish my sentence before Jerome's finger squeezed the trigger and before my mind could even comprehend what was going on a bullet was sent flying through my father's skull. I screamed bloody murder as I rushed over to my father's lifeless body slumped on the carpeted floor, the once white carpet was now a deep crimson from the blood of my only remaining family member.

My sobs echoed through the room as I held his head in my lap and mourned over his body, his warm blood was dripping down my leg but at the moment I couldn't care less, he was all I had and now I have nothing to return to... "I'm so sorry dad, this is my fault, I shouldn't have tried escaping and now you've paid the price just like mum did. I didn't get to tell you that I love you but I do, I'm a horrible daughter and you deserved better, I hope you are in a better place now." I sniffled and the tears kept flowing.

"Now maybe you will do as you're told." Jerome growled as he dragged me from my father's body kicking and screaming.

"I'm sorry..."

"I'm sorry..."

"I'm sorry!" I woke up in a cold sweat. It was a dream! Oh thank god it was a dream! I held a hand to my racing heart and sat up immediately only to come in hard contact with Jerome's forehead. We both gripped our heads and groaned in pain, it will most likely bruise.

"Ouch! Dammit Kat what the hell?" Jerome asked.

"I'm so sorry, please don't hurt my dad!" I rushed out not wanting the events of my nightmare to become a reality.

"Woah, calm down. I may be a psychopath but I'm not an unreasonable psychopath! Gosh you think so low of me! Although, if you were to be disobedient I would have no choice but to bring ole daddio into the situation ok?" I nodded my head immediately not wanting to take any chances. "Anyways, you are such a heavy sleeper you know that? Like I got back, had a shower and watched a movie and you didn't even flinch!" He seemed to be so interested in the fact that I didn't wake easily like it was a rare thing.

"I've always been like that..." I answered unsure of what the big deal was. I looked down and noticed that I was still in my gasoline smelling clothes from the bus incident and took the opportunity to see how much I could do in this place. "Uh Jerome, would I uh be able to get some clothes? Mine are still soaked in gasoline..." I asked not sure of how he would react.

"Oh yeah, that reminds me! Last night I swung by your house and picked up some stuff for you. See? And you say I don't do anything for you." He exclaimed and I was surprised that he had gone to the effort of collecting my things from my home. Wait... How the hell did he know where I lived?

"Uh thank you for that. That was very nice of you." As much as I wanted to bombard him with questions on how he knew my address I knew that if I did I could potentially get my things taken from me or worse.

"Hey look! You're actually being grateful, who knew?" God I wanted to slap that cheesy grin straight off his face.

"Can I go shower now?" I asked, not knowing if these things needed to be asked about but this should only be temporary because Jim is going to find me.

"Depends... Can I trust you not to jump out of the window?" He asked rolling onto his stomach with a playful smile.

"Have I jumped out a window yet?" I retorted. He looked to be thinking. "Exactly." I continued, seeing the overnight bag I owned and opening it to see my clothes and a couple of books and stuff. I picked out some clothes and my shampoo, conditioner and body wash before heading over to the elegant ensuite.
