His eyes followed me as I made my way over to the large bathroom. I closed the door to block his view and clicked the lock just in case he got any ideas. I turned the shower on to let the water heat up before stripping my ruined clothes. It was my favourite outfit, new too.

I hopped into the now warm shower and felt the hot water cascade down my gasoline covered body. I washed my hair and body, welcoming the smell of my familiar body wash that had overcome my senses. It was all coconut scented and gave me a calming feeling as it reminded me of home. Home, I'd only been away for a couple of days but it felt like an eternity. Was my dad ok? I wouldn't know.

As much as I wanted my shower to last forever I knew that if I didn't get out soon Jerome would have no problem breaking the door down so I got out and pulled a towel around me. I began drying my body and hair before pulling on the clothes I had taken from my bag that was still in the bedroom. Just as I had finished getting dressed I heard someone pound on the door.

"Don't tell me ya jumped out the window!" I heard Jerome groan on the other side of the door.

"I'm just getting changed but I'm finished now!" I called back as I unlocked the bathroom door and stepped into the master bedroom that Jerome and I apparently shared. Well, I assume we share because he said that he came back here last night.

"God you took sooo lonngggg" Jerome drawled as he jumped back onto the bed.

"Sorry gasoline is kinda hard to wash out of your hair no thanks to you." I retorted and he seemed amused by my little outburst.

"Oooh Kat's gotta temper!" He teased and I rolled my eyes, his attitude only annoying me further. "Roll your eyes at me one more time and I'll stab them out of your skull." He warned and I immediately stiffened. "It would be a shame because your eyes are so pretty." He added as some sort of compliment.

" He added as some sort of compliment

"Um... Ok." I didn't really know what to say to something like that, I mean he just threatened to stab my eyes out.

"So are you hungry? You haven't eaten in ages and I don't want you to die just yet." He asked and it was only then that I began to realise the pain in my stomach from not eating in however many days I've been here.

"I guess." I shrugged, not wanting to seem too desperate because he would probably stop me from eating because he'd find it fun.

"Let's go get some breakfast then! The food here is way better than in Arkham let me tell ya!" He exclaimed as he got up from the bed and took a hold of my arm, guiding me into the hallway of the lavish mansion. He dragged me all the way down the hall until we found a long dining table that the rest of the inmates and Theo sat eating breakfast. Without hesitation, Jerome pushed me into the chair furthest from the others and sat right beside me, a grin plastered on his face all the while.

"Good morning Jerome, Katerina, nice of you to join us." Theo gave me a hard glance that practically oozed authority and intimidation.

"Great set up you got here Theo, so much better than the slop at Arkham right Greenwood." Jerome nudged Greenwood who looked unpleased with Jerome's presence.

"Got that right." He mumbled as his eyes locked with mine. I unintentionally moved closer to Jerome who seemed to have also noticed as he put a protective arm around my shoulders but played it off as being playful. Jerome grabbed a little bit of everything the table had to offer and piled it on the plate in front of me before gesturing for me to eat it.

We all ate in silence as my eyes occasionally locked with Theo's who gave me a stone cold glance and Barbra who seemed to be deep in thought. Her head was slightly tilted as she studied me and her lips twisted into a playful smile. I shot my eyes down to my food and kept it that way until Theo's voice cleared the silence.

"Alright everybody, as you know Katerina is the headline of the news and the GCPD are searching for her. Now as much as I was against the idea of her being here it has come to my attention that she is providing all the publicity we need as the city search for the MANIAX!" He explained his eyes never leaving mine. "Although in order to make sure that she cannot be traced here you will all need to lay low. If the GCPD find any of you within a ten kilometre radius of here we would have them at our doorstep. Jerome make sure she does not leave this building under any circumstances." He directed and all the inmates nodded their heads in agreement. Well at least they wouldn't be reading havoc on Gotham for a while.

"No worries boss, Katerina knows what'll happen if she tries anything stupid don't you Kat?" All eyes fell on me.

"Y-yes, sure." I stuttered out, knowing that any of them could kill me in a heartbeat.

"We also need to keep her alive so that the police keep searching, no missing person no search got it?" I could see Tabitha's face fall as she is told that she couldn't kill me but I felt like I could finally breathe again knowing that I won't die... At least for now.

"We don't need some bratty teenager to deal with."  Tabitha mumbled but Theo gave her one look and she silenced.

"I mean it Tabitha, no harm is to come of her yet. I may just need her for something." Throughout this whole conversation I could do nothing but hold back tears because I knew that if I said one wrong thing I would no longer have a tongue to say things with.

"Hear that gorgeous? You get to have fun with me for a while!" Jerome exclaimed and I nodded in silence. At least I'm not getting murdered I guess.
