Jerome's POV: When he almost shot Kat
As Katerina came back from the bathroom with her red hair tied into a perfect ponytail (bits and pieces sticking out just like mine did) she had black pyjamas on that made her look effortlessly gorgeous, not that I paid any attention not that. I decided I was going to prank her. Nothing funnier than a good old prank right?
"Heard you were trynna get away from me huh?" I asked, using the best acting I could muster as I tried to keep a straight face. Her eyes widened like a deer's just like I thought they would as they moved from my face down to the pistol I held in my hand. Oops, forgot to leave that in the living room, oh well helps give some more dramatic flare.
"What? I did-" The look on her face was absolutely priceless as she tried to muster up some explanation for something she didn't do... Well I don't think she did. A couple of small chuckles escaped my lips accidentally and I cursed myself for not carrying on for longer although the look on her face was all I needed. My laughter kept getting harder as I rocked back and forth on the chair. Before I even knew what was going on Katerina shouted. "Jerome no!" With that I realised that my finger had pulled the trigger of the gun that I was too busy laughing to realise was still in my hand and a bullet hole had embedded itself in the wall behind where she was standing.
Her eyes began streaming tears as she sat on the ground with her her knees tucked into her chest. Realising that I could have potentially shot her made my eyes widen in concern as I glanced at her sobbing body. I was feeling... Guilty? Nah, well at least I don't think so.
"Kat I'm sorry... I was just messing with you. See? I know you weren't gonna escape or nothing!" I explained, knowing that she would surely see the comedy in the situation. It was just a prank, no hard feelings or anything. As I made my way over to her shaking figure she screamed, moving further way from me.
"Please stop! Please don't come any closer." She begged and I was still trying to understand how she wasn't laughing about it.
"It's ok calm down-" I attempted to soothe her.
"How can I be calm when you just shot me!" She argued, finally getting some attitude back. She knows I hate it when she talks back.
"It'll happen again if you don't calm down." I threatened, I could basically feel my eyes darkening as my voice lowered. She pushed herself right into a corner and dug her tear stained face into her knees. What am I going to do with her? I couldn't just leave her there.
I guess I have to like comfort her or something. I cautiously made my way over to her as she tensed herself into a ball even further. As I got closer to her she lifted her head up and at the sight of me tried to push herself even closer to the corner. Her eyes were pleading with me to not take it any further but I couldn't help it.
My hand went to touch her cheek but she flinched, lightly hitting her head on the wall, forcing her to stay still. I let my fingers tangle in her soft, vibrant hair as I softly pushed it out of her face in order to get a clearer view of her bottomless eyes. More tears slipped through the ocean-like pools and I used I bent down so I could see her face to face. I wiped away the delicate tears that stained her cheeks. She even cried beautifully.
"I'm sorry, I got carried away. Hell of a prank though right?" I muttered, attempting to somewhat lighten the mood.
"I-I almost died." She stuttered out and I felt the same feeling in the pit of my stomach from when I first fired the gun. I stood back, giving her room to stand as I offered my hand to help her up but she didn't accept it, shakily getting up on her own.
"But you didn't!" I exclaimed, hoping she would finally see the funny side of this whole ordeal.
"But I could've." She whispered. Why was she always looking on the gloomy side of things, it was just like Russian roulette but even better.
"Were you like this every time I threatened your life or just this time?" I asked, smiling as I made my way to the other side of the room, quite honestly I would have thought that she would be a lot cooler about this situation.
"Yeah, can you blame me though?" She questioned me and I was amused by the stubborn look on her face, she looked like she had just been told she couldn't have a cookie and was arguing with someone why she should have the cookie. The thought itself had me laughing.
"Meh, I haven't even tortured you, you should be happy." What else can she ask for?
"Well yeah, I'm kinda happy about that I guess but I would still rather not have my life completely threatened, but that's just a personal preference." My eyebrows raised as she finally began to find at least some humour in the situation. Hell she even made a joke! I love jokes!
"Wow Katerina was that a joke! Who knew when you weren't crying over missing your dad that you were actually amusing!" I teased her and she just looked over it.
"Thanks Jerome." She even uses sarcasm, the things you learn about a person when they aren't busy crying.
"Woah, you're sarcastic too? Where is all this coming from?" I cackled at my own joke as I fell back slightly on the bed, as I met eyes with her agin I saw that she had rolled her eyes again. I sent a warning glare and it was clear she got the message. I gestured for her to come over to the bed and she looked reluctant but did anyway.
She hesitantly took a seat all the way on the other corner of the bed so just to spite her I took her by the waist and dragged her over until she was laying right next to me and kept a grip on her so she couldn't move away.
"How bout I put on my pyjamas and we get some sleep huh? I've got a big day with the boys planned tomorrow!" I suggested and she didn't bother replying as I made my over to the wardrobe to find my pyjamas and change.
Katerina hadn't moved an inch by the time I walked back in the room, her eyes travelled from the ceiling to me as I hopped into the bed and pulled the covers over both of us. It wasn't until I got comfy that I realised that I hadn't turned off the damn light.
Kat so graciously offered to turn the light off and after she flicked the switch I snuck up behind her, seeing nothing but her dark outline as I leant into her ear. "Boo" I whispered creepily into her ear and although I couldn't see her face, the scream that escaped her lips was enough evidence that I had indeed scared the living day lights out of her.
The scream alone sent me into a fit of laughter as I turned the light back on to find that she had somehow tripped over the corner of the bed and ended up on the floor, gasping for air as she tried to slow her breathing.
"Jerome what the hell! You're such a jerk!" She wined and I continued to laugh at her as she played sprawled on the floor. She held her now slightly bruised knee.
"I'm sorry I just couldn't help it." I kept laughing as she struggled back on the bed.
"Now you can turn the light off." Her adorable lips pouting as she dug her face into the blanket like a toddler.
"You're such a baby." I stated, shaking my head with a laugh at her actions. I turned off the light and made my way to the bed without a problem, I slipped under the blanket and hugged her against me as if she was a teddy bear. "Goodnight Kat." I whispered in her ear but got nothing but silence in return.
She is so stubborn but I love it.
