Selina's POV:
That snobby little rich kid is too stupid for his own good, letting that stupid butler make him think that Kat was crazy, locking her up in some dungeon. They think that she is too dangerous, I didn't like Kat at first, her stupid victim routine growing old but she helped me through some stuff, promised that when it was safe I could come live with her. She was nice like that, said she'd pay for me to get off the streets, I couldn't let that kind of opportunity die with her down there.
She was better off with Jerome, at least he didn't lock her in a cellar.
I pushed passed the burly guards that were supposed to protect Penguin in his little palace or whatever, Butch giving me a nod as I passed him.
"Boss wasn't expecting you." He said, unsure of my motives.
"He should learn to expect the unexpected." I snapped back. "Where is he? I have business to discuss." I glanced around the room, hand on my hip.
"He's in here, hold on." Butch disappears for a moment, coming back to tell me that to follow him. I trail behind him, the halls looking familiar.
"Ah, Selina! What can I do for you? I'm assuming your task is going as planned?" He mused, a smug smirk present on his lips.
"If your plan was to have her locked up and going insane then sure." I took a seat, propping my feet on the table.
"Excuse me?" He asks, leaning forward and shooing away a man that was trying to pour him wine.
"Bruce Wayne's butler thinks she's dangerous and has locked her up. Now I don't know what that agreement you and riddle boy includes but I'm pretty sure he wouldn't want her to go mad." I looked at him, my voice monotonous.
"No, I suppose not." He looked to be thinking.
"It's all because of that stupid Silver St Cloud," I growled, my fists clenching.
"Theo Galavan's niece?" He questioned and I nodded begrudgingly.
"That stupid slut ratted Kat out to her dumb uncle and now Jerome knows about Kat." I probably should not be sharing this but at this point, I would tell him whatever needed to be told in order to stop one of my only sane friends being locked up and driven mental.
"So Theo is the one behind the Maniax after all!" I nodded, hoping that him knowing this would make him do something about her.
"Yes, now what are you gonna do about Kat, I didn't come for a gossip session." I rolled my eyes at him.
"Oh, this is just great! Theo Galavan, noble citizen going for mayor is in charge of the Maniax! All we have to do is out him and he won't stand a chance and I will still be the King of Gotham." He announced, obviously happy with the outcome of the situation.
"Yeah we get it woohoo you can be Mr tough guy or whatever but how the hell do you plan on outing Theo?" I asked, annoyed that he keeps changing the objective.
"Well, you can pay a little visit to your dear friend Silver and make sure she tells Jerome that Katerina is locked up and he's sure to out the rest. All I need is for you to make sure that Jerome hears about it and leave the rest to me." He planned out but I didn't trust it.
"And how will that get Katerina out?" I ask, his plan only seeming to benefit him.
"Well, we all know Jerome isn't one for subtle and him knowing Katerina's where abouts would point all signs to Theo, although just to be sure where this." He snapped his fingers and one of the clueless men walked in, a small microphone dangling from his finger.
"Why the mic?" I asked, getting tired of his antics.
"If you anger Silver enough she is bound to admit to knowing about the Maniax, outing her and her uncle. Then you can hand that straight to Jim and off to jail they go." I looked at him skeptically but took the microphone anyway, knowing that Penguin's plans were often successful and it was for Kat's safety.
"This better work Penguin," I growl, getting ready to leave.
"Oh, it is bound to." He promised.
Kat's POV:
The walls felt closer like they were somehow closing in on me. I hadn't seen anyone since Alfred brought me breakfast this morning, putting the food through the slot and walking away, not a word said. Bruce hadn't visited and neither has Selina. Had I done something wrong?
My days were repetitive, I was given food and left to stare at a wall for hours on end. Selina promised she would be back but I hadn't seen her in god knows how long. The only thing occupying me was my own thoughts and they were never pleasant, telling me it was my fault I was here and that I wasn't normal. It was suffocating.
I'd resulted in stacking water bottles until there were no more bottles to stack, speaking to myself due to lack of company.
"You don't talk to yourself, you aren't crazy." I mumbled. "Yeah, you're right I don't- oh my god I'm literally taking to myself what the hell?!" I shook my head and looked to the floor. Maybe that's why I got stuck down here, they thought I was crazy. Am I crazy? Wait, do I not know that I'm crazy? What if i'm secretly crazy?
"Hey Kitty Kat." Jerome sat in front of me his usual playful smirk adorning his lips.
"Jerome? Why are you here?" I asked, backing up slightly.
"Well I'm not real of course. I'm all up in that head of yours." He reached out to touch me and I felt nothing.
"I'm not crazy, I don't see things." I defended myself, not willing to accept this madness.
"It's ok, I'll probably be here soon to come save you anyway." He taunted backing away from me.
"What do you mean?" I questioned.
"We both know just how great I can be at finding you, and that silly old door won't stop me. I'd say it will take less than a week before I come and take you back with me. Hell even I treated you better than this." He laughed, looking around the room in disgust. With that he had vanished, right in front of my eyes, an illusion.
"That can't be right." I exclaim, getting up and moving to where he stood, looking around to find any type of stupid game he was pulling.
"Stop trying to look for me, I'm in your head." I spun around to face him standing behind him.
"No you aren't you are trying to get in my head." I shook my head at him.
"Oh gorgeous we both know I'd rather get in your pants." He winked at me and my eyes widened. "But that isn't the point."
"Then why are you here?" I ask, still creeped out by his comment.
"Because somewhere deep down in that mind of yours, you wanna see me again."
