Oswald instructed his driver to take us to our destination (That he had still yet to tell me) and before I even got the chance to ask Selina started a conversation.

"Why do I have to babysit her?" She asked Oswald who looked amused at the two of us. "And what are you looking all smug about?"

"Oh nothing, it's just that the both of you are quite fierce, although Katerina has the manners to hold her tongue, something you would do well to learn from." Selina sent me a dirty look. "And the fact that the both of you are nicknamed Kat, a nickname that fits the both of you well."

"I hardly think I am fierce," I replied, having a newfound interest in the conversation.

"Well, you stood up to a psychotic murderer and managed to escape from him." He stated and I rolled my eyes lightly. "With respect sir, you, yourself are a murderer."

"And you are defending the boy. You should note the importance between a murderer and a psychotic murderer. I kill for business, not for sport." Why was I defending him?

"Yes, yes, you are right, I apologise." I shook my head to clear the clouding thoughts of Jerome and what he could be doing at the moment.

"Whatever, so long as I get my pay I don't really care. We are taking her to Bruce's right? No way she can survive on the street." She looked me up and down.

"He would be the best option at the moment, given the circumstances," Oswald replied to the short haired girl.

"Bruce will take her in, he's a sucker for the victim crap. His butler will take a bit more convincing but it shouldn't be that hard." She stared out the window and I picked at my nails absently.

The car ride was silent for the rest of the way home. I assumed the Bruce they were talking about was a friend of theirs but as we approached the gates of the Wayne Mansion I realised that they were talking about the Wayne boy that had lost his parents just this year. I felt for him honestly, although I was only young when my mother died I couldn't picture what it would have been like to have both parents ripped from me in front of my eyes. Losing my mother was hard enough.

"Now Katerina." I looked over to Oswald. "You would say we are friends now correct?" He questioned and I nodded confused. "Well friends do favours for each other and I would hope that someday you will be a good friend in return."

"Of course," I replied instantly, feeling as if I owed him for so kindly helping me.

"Just the answer I was looking for. We will be in touch but for now, I will leave you in Selina's capable hands." He looked over to Selina who rolled her eyes. "Selina, I would like to keep her alive." He warned her.

"Yes, penguin," I remembered how the nickname had affected him last time we had met but he didn't seem to react this time.

"You go by Penguin now?" I asked curious to what had changed.

"Yes, I feel like it is the best way to show my strength." He answered dismissively and I decided not to test him further.

"Alright rich kid, let's go," Selina commanded as she exited the car.

"I'm older than you," I muttered, not understanding how she had deemed me a kid.

"It's better to not argue Miss Ferdine. She can prove to be quite useful." Oswald explained and I just nodded, somewhat frustrated.

"Well, I am truly thankful for all you have done for me Mr Penguin if there is any way I can repay the favour in the future you know where to find me." I thanked him gratefully.
