My mind slowly gained back consciousness and I had no idea where I was. I didn't have the strength to open my eyes yet so I slowly moved my hands and they slid along what felt like silk. I was laying down, I knew that for sure and the only thing I could hear was my own steady breathing.
I stayed like that for god knows how long, my eyes lids slowly getting easier to move but when I finally opened them I wished I hadn't. I was staring at a ceiling that was in no way my ceiling and I was laying in a bed that was not mine either. Where in the hell was I?
My memory was still hazy and I had no idea where this place was or how I even got here. My eyes widened in panic as I ripped the sheets off my body to find that I was still fully clothed, you could never be too sure in a place like Gotham. I sat up slowly and looked around at the room I was in. It looked expensive, to say the least, in this one room alone held a massive bed (that was sooo comfy by the way), a two seater couch, a mahogany desk, carpet that looked so plush, a flatscreen Television, an ensuite and a walk in wardrobe!
Slowly but surely I began remembering the events that had occurred yesterday. I was kidnapped by that group of psychos! Where had they taken me? It wasn't what I'd expected in the least, although my expectation was a beaten down warehouse or something not this lavish room. I stayed silent, not wanting to alert them that I had woken up so I could find some sort of escape.
I frantically went over to the massive window that lined the wall to the left of me and delicately moved the curtains aside as to not make a noise. My heart sunk at what I saw, I was in a building so far from the ground even attempting to jump out would give me a death sentence.
I sunk to my knees and sat on the carpeted floor, small cries leaving my mouth but I muffled them with my hand. I didn't have time to cry, not in a situation like this.
I got back up and shakily made my way over to the wooden door and let my hand grip the brass knob, I took a deep breath and turned it, hoping to every type of god or universe that it was unlocked. It was! These imbeciles didn't even lock the door, not that I'm complaining, but I didn't have time to be thinking about them because I had to get out of here.
The door opened with a soft creak into an empty and silent hallway, so far so good. My feet slowly tiptoed from the room and I closed the door to give the illusion that I was still in there. I made my way silently down the long hallway until I found an opening between the two walls, it being a large living room. I immediately retreated behind the wall as I heard a group of voices conversing.
"This was not the plan Jerome." I heard an older man's voice say. There were more of them?
"But come oooonnnnn look at her she can keep me occupied! This place can get sooo boring!" As soon as I heard his voice my blood ran cold and my heart beat began to race.
"She could ruin everything!" The other man shouted and I began panting in fear.
I heard their footsteps moving away from the living room and I took it as my chance to bolt to the staircase that I could just see from where I was standing. I dashed down the staircase as quickly as humanly possible, completely disregarding the whole silent part as hope of escape flooded through me.
I had almost reached the door, it being almost in my hopeful grasp before something wrapped around my neck and threw me to the ground making me scream in agony. I sat up to see a woman in a black leather outfit with her brunette hair pulled back into a slick high ponytail and a blonde woman that looked completely disinterested. The brunette was the one that attacked me and she looked like she would continue before the blonde stepped in.
"Now, now Tabitha, I'm pretty sure she's Jerome's little hostage, I saw him bring her in last night." The blonde stated and the brunette, or as I now know as Tabitha, looked unimpressed.
I couldn't speak as the whip was tightly around my neck and it had left an intense amount of pain along with the fact that the wind had been completely knocked out of me due to being slammed onto the tiled ground. I coughed and cried in pain as I tried to get up off the ground before being kicked to the ground by Tabitha's boot. I let out another scream and tears were flowing down my cheeks in pure agony.
"P-please, I won't tell anyone i-if you j-just let me g-go!" I begged, my voice scratchy from screaming.
"There you are gorgeous!" I saw him standing on the top of the staircase, my vision slightly blurry from my head hitting the ground.
"This yours Jerome?" Tabitha had asked looking at me in disgust.
"Sure is! Did ya have to be so rough? I don't want her pretty face going to waste." He began to laugh again as he descended the stairs and I began to shake the closer he got. "What do ya think we take this back upstairs hm? Before I do anything too crazy!" His voice shook with madness and I did not want to even attempt to stir him up even more. He hooked an arm around my waist and I winced as his arm came in contact with my bruising hip.
I nodded weakly, the fall having taken it's toll on me. I could hardly walk, no way would I be able to escape his hold, get passed Tabitha and out the door. He roughly dragged me back up the stairs, tears brimmed my eyes as I tried to ignore the excruciating pain erupting in my hip. He led me back through the hall and as soon as we entered the room I had woken up in he slammed my back into the wall with both of his hands beside my head and his face centimetres from mine.
"Do anything like that again doll and it won't be Tabitha ruining that pretty face of yours got it?" He growled sounding somewhat animalistic.
I had really done it this time...
