I glanced up at Barbra as the words left her mouth 'I'm going to get you out of here.' This was a trick right? Her head was tilted slightly on the side and she had a stiff smile to go along with her crazed eyes that flickered to mine as she awaited my reaction to the news.

"You what?" I questioned, fearing that maybe I was hearing things.

"I'm getting you out of here, don't make me say it again kid." She mumbled in a lower tone, obviously not wanting any eavesdroppers to catch on. Before replying to her we heard a thump and a painful groan from what I assume was the living room, most likely Jerome and Tabitha trying to settle their argument in the only way they knew how, violence.

"I don't understand... Why? I didn't even think you liked me?" I asked curious to her sudden change of attitude toward me, I wanted to know whether or not this was some twisted test Jerome had thought of.

"Let's just say I made a deal with someone who is very desperate to find you and in return I get off scot free." She stated and I looked at her questionably.

"Who? My dad?" I guessed, hoping that it was.

"No Jim you idiot, why would I make a deal with your dad?" She laughed at the thought but I didn't even care considering I was just told that I was getting out of here.

"Oh my god I can't believe it!" Her hand immediately slapped over my mouth in an attempt to make me quiet and I did so straight away, not wanting to risk anything.

"Shut up! If you want this to work you are going to need to be a lot sneakier than that, got it?" She hissed and I nodded my head, her hand still pressed against my lips. "Good, now we are going to have to plan this because it is gong to be a lot more difficult than just walking out of here." She took her hand off my mouth and she walked further into the room with me following suit.

"So how do you suppose we do this?" I questioned as I sat in a small chair in the corner of the room.

"We need to do it so that Jerome won't know you're gone because he would turn the city upside down looking for you..." She sat on the edge of her bed and looked to be in deep thought.

"Won't he just forget about it? He doesn't seem to have a very large attention span?" I replied and she looked at me in amusement.

"Oh honey, you've got that psycho wrapped around your little finger. He would blow up the whole city if it meant finding you." I laughed at her comment as if she was joking which she must have been. Like she said, he's a psycho.

"Yeah ok, you're really funny but let's be serious." I laughed more.

"Don't tell me I didn't warn you." She warned in a sing-song voice as she laid on her back and stared at the ceiling as she talked. "Plus if Theo knew you were gone he'd have Tabitha on you like a bloodhound and unlike Jerome she'd shoot you on the spot." She continued and my eyes widened slightly. I didn't doubt it either.

"How could we? They would all find me one way or another and obviously the law isn't going to help with anything." I shifted in my seat, this whole situation making me extremely anxious.

"Well Jim could help you out, it'll distract him from that bitch he's dating." She growled at the thought of Lee.

"Not for long though, it would be the first place Jerome would check." I shut down the idea.

"You're right..." Just as she finished there was a knock on the door and a laugh coming from behind it. "Look we'll talk more another time but for now just pretend this never happened." She gave me a threatening look and I nodded my head immediately, not wanting to blow my one chance of getting out of here.

"Hello ladies! How was your gossip session? Tabitha and I had a little disagreement but we've sorted it out now so I'll be taking Kat!" He announced after Barbra opened the door.

"Ugh Jerome you're such a buzzkill I was just giving Katerina the best fashion advice and you had to come in and stop me before I could finish." Barbra complained and Jerome just grinned in reply.

"I think she dresses just fine! I mean look at her." He turned to me and gave me which made a blush unintentionally rise to my cheeks.

"Ugh but you're biased." Barbra rolled her eyes but as soon as her eyes met mine she winked.

"Well as fun as this has been I'll be taking Kat back now, you've had her for far too long." Jerome motioned for me to go over to him and I begrudgingly moved closer to him as he leaned against the door frame.

"Half an hour isn't long at all, you are just dramatic." Barbra shooed us away. "Fine take her, I wanna give her a makeover at some point though." She pushed us until we were outside the door.

"Well the boys and I are going to cause some trouble the day after tomorrow, consider it done." My head whipped up to Jerome in astonishment. I was getting out of here faster than I thought. "But don't change her too much yeah? I don't want another Barbra walking around." He added, disregarding my look of shock. I looked over to Barbra to see her looking back at me with a knowing glance.

"Ugh fine, I'll babysit your little hostage but next time I'm charging. Now run along." With that she slammed the door in our faces.

"I'd like to say she gets nicer but she honestly doesn't" Jerome laughed at Barbra's obvious hostility.

We went back to the kitchen where dinner was being cooked and only then was I aware of the time, it was already 6:30! Where had all the time gone?

Jerome and I sat at kitchen bench beside each other in silence, I was just praying he wouldn't start a conversation but I had spoken way too soon. "Barbra can be a piece of work aye? Now you can say that you've experienced it first-hand." Jerome turned to look me in the eyes.

"Uh yeah, she can be pretty mean I guess." I couldn't really say much about her considering she was currently helping me get out of here.

"See? I told you I was the nice one here! You hit the kidnapper jackpot if I'm honest. You could have gotten stuck with Greenwood! HA You wouldn't last a day with him, I don't think anyone would have survived a day with him, I mean look at the oaf! AHAHAHA!" He cackled and I smiled slightly to keep him pleased.

A frightened chef slowly put two plates of pasta in front of us and immediately scurried back into the kitchen and I couldn't blame her. If I had the opportunity to hide from this psychopath in the kitchen I wouldn't hesitate.

And I was getting away from this psycho... Only a couple of days left.
