A Night Alone

I woke up on Friday and had a smile on my face. I was excited because George and I were having our alone time that night. I was going to cook dinner and the kids were staying at the Burrow as were some of their cousins. I couldn’t wait to spend some time alone with him. We hadn’t had a night alone for two years now and I was excited. George was too. He started counting down to the day. I looked over at him and he smiled at me.

            “Good morning.” He said happily.

            “Good morning.” I grinned.

“I can’t wait for tonight.” He said and wrapped his arms around me.

“Me either.” I kissed his lips. “You have to get ready for work.”

“Looks like the roles have reversed from Monday.” He joked.

“Yeah well I know we’ll have all night together.” I kissed his lips again. “I have to go make breakfast so the kids can eat and you can drop them off at the Burrow.”

“Then what are you going to do for the day?” He asked as he let me go and we stood up.

“I’m gonna go to Hogsmeade and pick us up some sweets from Honeydukes.” I lied and took of the shirt I was wearing. I was really going to get some things from Honeydukes but I was really going to look for that kid I saw Monday.

“You’re the only sweet I need.” George kissed the back of my head and I grinned.

“Same here.” I turned around and kissed him.

            “I love you.”

            “I love you too.”

We finished getting dressed and I went down to the kitchen to fix breakfast while he got the kids up and ready. We all ate quickly and I had the dishes do themselves as I said bye to George, Fred, Paige, and Sebastian. I then apparated out of the house and went to Hogsmeade.

I wasn’t sure what to do. Do I walk around Hogsmeade for the boy or just sit somewhere and wait for him to show up? I sighed and went into the Three Broomsticks. I sat down by the window and just looked out there. I just wanted a glimpse of this kid. Why did he look like George’s brother? Why was this bothering me? Madam Rosmerta, who owns the inn, came over and brought me some Butterbeer and food. I spent almost the whole day sitting there waiting for the boy and never saw him. Maybe he was a figment of my imagination. I thought that maybe he would’ve been back but he never showed up.

Around seven, I decided to go. George would be getting off work at nine and come home and we were going to have our night together. Just us. I paid Madam Rosmerta then left the inn. I got some sweets from Honeydukes then and apparated home. I put the sweets in the kitchen and started making dinner. I was going to make his favorite: fish and chips. I had the table set itself so I could finish cooking and go upstairs to get ready. I put the food on the table when it finished and ran upstairs to change. I put on a purple dress and left my Converse on. I fixed my hair and put on a little eyeliner before going back downstairs and I lit some candles. I heard a crack and grinned as I faced George.
