The Fake George

“Aria, don’t believe George.” Fred’s voice filled my dream. It was dark but a light appeared and Fred and I were sitting in the garden at the Burrow; looking up at the stars and moon.

“What do you mean, Fred?” I asked and looked into his eyes.

He looked into mine and said, “That’s not George. You and I both know that. He’d never cheat on you. He’d love my child and protect it like you have. That person who you think is George is someone under a Polyjuice Potion.”

            “Who?”

“I can’t say. But you need to act against everything they’ve done. They’re trying to break you two up. Just don’t fall for it. Act like everything’s fine.”

“How? It hurts even if it’s not really him.”

He touched my face. “I know. But don’t give up on everything we worked for just because someone else wants it ruined.”

I nodded. “Ok. Do you know where he is?”

He shook his head. “I can’t tell you, Air. You have to find him.” He looked up at the sky then back down at me. “I have to go now and you need to wake up. Tell my son I’m watching over him.”

I opened my eyes and took a deep breath. The dream felt so real. It was real. Fred came to me in my dream. That meant that George wasn’t really George. Well, technically. I sat up and looked around the guest room at Jude’s house. Sebastian was still asleep in the bed next to me and Jason, Paige, and Fred were sleeping in Max’s room down the hall. I quietly got out of bed and snuck out of the room; going downstairs. Jude and Lucy were in the kitchen and they both put on a smile when they saw me.

            “Good morning, Aria.” Lucy said.

“How did you sleep?” Jude added.

I took a deep breath and sighed. “Ok I guess.” I took out my wand. “I have to go see George though.”

Jude’s eyes widened. “No, Aria. You two are separated.”

“And I’m gonna tell him we’re not anymore.”

            “He cheated.”

I shook my head. “No he didn’t. That’s not really George.”

            “Then who is it?”

I shrugged. “I don’t know. But it’s not him. Fred to me so.”

“Fred like your son or like George’s twin?” Lucy asked.

            “His twin.” I answered.

They exchanged a look and Jude asked, “What else did he tell you?”

“Nothing else really. Just that the person pretending to be George is trying to break George and I up and to not let that happen. And that I have to find George.”

“Fred didn’t tell you where he was?”

I shook my head. “He said he can’t.” I held onto my wand.

“Aria, what if the dream was planted? What if you or the kids get hurt by going back to George?”

“It’s not, Jude. And if it might be, I can’t take that chance. I have to do this. Tell the kids I went to talk to George. Don’t mention any of this to them.” I apparated out before Jude could stop me.

I stood in my house and looked around the room. George came out of our room with a box and he looked at me. “Sorry.” He said and put down the box. “I was taking today off to get all of this packed.”

“Don’t.” I told him and went over to him. “I’m sorry for the way I acted last night. I know you were just under a Love Potion.”

He looked into my eyes and said, “So I can stay?”

I nodded. “Yeah. I’ll unpack and you go to work, ok?”

“Ok.” He smiled and kissed my lips. That was the first time we’ve kissed in a week and it was different. More hard and not passionate. George’s kisses were soft and full of passion. His mouth didn’t even taste like cinnamon. It tasted like peppermint. That’s how I knew my dream was right. This wasn’t George. He pulled away from me and smiled. “I love you, Aria.”

“You too.” I faked a smiled and he apparated.

I sat on the couch and touched my lips. I felt like I had cheated. I kissed someone else. I really did kiss someone else. I had to find my George and get rid of this fake one if it was the last thing I did.
