02) Hey!(:

So, I self-harm and I was wondering what to do to so when I feel like doing it like just very recently, how can I resist from doing it?

I can really relate to this, as I self harm also.

I'm not going to be a hypocrite, and tell you not to do it, because I know for a fact that it's not that easy. However, there are certain ways to feel that emotional release, without actually cutting, or beating yourself up, ect.

One technique that I try to use a lot, especially if I'm in public, is having an elastic band, or a tight bobble around my wrist, and snapping it. Snap at your wrist as much as you need to. I usually do it until my wrist, or arm, goes red. It actually does help quite a lot, though it can become quite addicting.

If you're at home, you could have a cold shower. When you get angry, or upset, or have urges to self harm, get into that cold shower and stay in there until you think you'll be okay.

Ice cube can sometimes work as well; just squeezing on the cold ice. Sometimes I stab myself with a pen, as it's better than using any other objects.

I also bite myself occasionally, but mostly when I'm angry. It's pretty addicting, and you get pretty deep teeth marks, but I guess it's a bit better? xD

Maybe you should try and cry. Turn on a song that upsets you, and sing your lungs out. Write about wanting to self harm. Jumping up and down, exercising - anything.

I just hope that one day, you'll be truely happy, and you won't have to turn to self harm as a way of coping. You're not alone.
