Summary

Josh is drunk and constantly stumbles into Tyler's apartment.

***

He didn't know why Josh did it, but he wished he would stop. Tyler despised the days that Josh went out drinking, because it meant he'd 'accidentally' stumble into Tyler's apartment, try to make a pass at him, pass out, and wake up to eat some cheerios before leaving. The routine was always the same, but no matter how many times he did it, he didn't enjoy it any more than the time before.

Tyler didn't hate Josh. Quite the opposite. Josh was Tyler's special cup of tea. Tyler was just too shy to admit to the supposedly straight Josh that he'd like to go Downton on his Abbey.

According to Tyler, Josh was a fluid drunk. He'd hit on anything that could pass for a hole, which is why Tyler never took his attempts seriously. He just accepted that Josh got drunk, came into the wrong apartment and just so happened to hit on him. If only he knew that Josh never had a sip of alcohol in his entire life.

Pretending to stumble was easy. Slurring his words and behaving incompetent was a piece of cake. What was hard for Josh was having to admit to his male neighbour that he had feelings for him. Stumbling pretendedly drunk into Tyler's apartment was the dumbest idea he could come up with, but it was the only one that he could follow through with.

Tyler made Josh weak in his knees. Tyler had no bulging muscles or Greek like body. His eyes weren't exactly as deep as the ocean. He wasn't the smartest guy Josh had ever met, and if Josh had to guess; his assumption would be that Tyler probably didn't wield a ten inch punisher beneath those shorts. Tyler was perfectly ordinary, and ordinarily perfect. Josh knew that he was special because he'd never felt a connection like that with anyone else. Josh didn't believe in fate, but he knew that his life would be incomplete without Tyler, which was why making a fool of himself as he pretended to be an inebriated drunk in front of Tyler was worth it if it meant he got to be closer to him.

Josh made sure his footsteps were unevenly paced and occasionally used the wall for support as he stumbled to Tyler's apartment. He dropped against Tyler's door as opposed to knocking and slid down to the floor. He heard the usual sound of Tyler fumbling for the keys, the door being unlocked and the feeling of two arms at his side, lifting him into the apartment.

"You're too big for me to be doing this every weekend Josh." Tyler grumbled. "I'm- I'm sorry," Josh lulled back. "I'll be smaller next time I promise." He continued inaudibly.

Tyler let out a deep sigh as he set Josh on the sofa with his feet up. "You need to go home Josh."

Josh shut his eyes and smiled at Tyler, and as sincerely as he could possibly muster, responded with- "I am home."

"Why are you so damn adorable." Tyler argued. "If you weren't I'd be able to toss you out faster than yesterdays dinner." Josh began to giggle, clutching at his sides until he rolled over onto the floor with a loud thud. Tyler rushed to help him up but Josh held a hand up for him to stop. "I need- I need to tell you something Tyler." Josh slurred. "Come closer."

Tyler got onto his knees to listen to Josh. "Closer." Josh responded softly. Tyler leaned in a little closer. Josh tilted his head to face Tyler before saying "closer." Tyler was mere inches from Josh's face, their lips mere millimeters apart. Josh turned to face Tyler and leaned a little closer.

"I fell," he answered.

Tyler grimaced, then smiled weakly as he helped Josh onto the sofa. (He was probably expecting a kiss as much as you guys were.)

Tyler stood hovering over Josh, a little more suspiciously than usual. Josh seemed entirely intoxicated to him, but something wasn't right. His breath was minty fresh as opposed to the smell of a brewery. There was no way he could possibly be as drunk as he supposedly is and not be stinking of alcohol.

"Josh?" The faux drunk looked up to him with barely parted eyes. "Why?" was all Tyler could ask. Josh slowly rose to sit on the sofa, staring up at Tyler with his hands running along his lap. His heart was in his throat and his palms felt a little sweaty at the idea of coming out to Tyler, but he didn't want to pretend any longer, so he stood to his feet, pulled Tyler into his arms and pressed their lips together in a warm embrace.

Tyler was surprised by Josh's actions, And Josh by Tyler's acceptance, but they both weren't surprised by how amazing it felt to draw their lips together. Josh's an down Tyler's back and Tyler hopped into Josh's embrace, lacing his legs around Josh's waist as their mouth's connected.

Josh stumbled blindly into the bedroom as he could barely stand to look away from Tyler has deep kisses ran from his lips to his neck. Josh eventually managed to push the door in and lay Tyler onto the bed. No words needed to be said, their actions told one another that nothing else mattered besides each other right now. They were content in each others arms and couldn't get enough of one another. It was all they ever needed.
