Victoria's P.O.V:
As we walked outside, I saw Paige and Zayn leaning on a car and making out.
I cringed a little at the thought of public displays of affection like that. Not my style.
Harry didn't seem to care that we were going to interrupt them and he walked right over there, towing me behind in the process. I had no choice but to reluctantly follow.
"Yo Zayn. We're leaving." Harry said, not waiting for him to look up from sucking his girlfriends face.
Page immediately looked up and saw us, and she instantly looked embarrassed.
I watched as she tried to stand up from leaning on Zayn, but Zayn just held her tighter.
"Alright man, I figured that. Surprised you stayed that long after she got here." He winked at me.
"Oh, no we're not... He's uh..... Taking me home." I flushed at the thought of them thinking he was gonna take me to his house. Alone.
"No, I was gonna take you back to my apartment. Remember?" Harry asked, turning to me.
Panic began to set in. What?! I had assumed he was bored and was taking me home so he could go home. Not..... Taking me to his place.
"Harry.... I gotta go home." I laughed nervously. I hated the way the three of them were staring at me.
"But you told your mom you were spending the night at my house remember?" Paige said. "You can't go home or she'll think something's up." She pointed out.
"Shit!" I said. "Yeah, you're right. Harry, I told Paige that I was going to be spending the night at her house."
I watched Harry's surprised, blank reaction to what I just said.
"Please! Girl, I'm going to be spending the night over here. You go have fun with your man." She winked.
"But-" I protested.
"You know what? No, its fine. If she doesn't want to stay the night. That's fine. I've got other stuff to do anyway." Harry said, not looking at me. I could tell he was hurt.
"No, Harry. That's not-" I began to explain.
He talked right over me. "No, no. I understand. Goodnight Paige, Zayn." He said, nodding to them as he walked away.
The fact that he didn't even bother to acknowledge me hurt more than it should. And I knew that was exactly his intention.
Jealousy burned through me as I realized he acknowledged Paige over me. Even though she was my best friend, and dating Harry's best friend, it still hurt to be ignored over another girl. Especially right in front of my face.
I just stood there in shock as he walked straight over to his car and sped off.
"Victoria?" Paige asked. I couldn't speak even if I wanted to.
"Look we can go back to my house and stay there. I don't mind. I can always stay over another day." She didn't think I was looking at her close enough to see the frown settle over her face at the idea, but I was.
I didn't want to become a burden to my best friend. I felt bad.
"No, I can just.... Go home I guess. You should stay here. I'll just... Make up some lie of why I came home." I said. I honestly had no idea what I was going to tell my mom.
"Or you could always stay here with us... If you want." Zayn suggested. By the way he had his arms wrapped around her, I doubted he was gonna let her go anywhere else tonight.
"I don't know..." I said. Staying here with them? That sounded worse than going home and facing my mothers critical questions. I didn't want to... Hear anything I wasn't supposed to.
Maybe I should have went with Harry.
This whole situation was just fucked.
"Yeah, come on Victoria. I don't really want to drive home this late, explain things to either of our parents or go home smelling like alcohol." Paige pleaded with me. "And I'd ask Zayn to drive... But he's had a few drinks himself." She said, before I could even ask.
"You drink?" I asked her. I didn't want to respond to any of the other things she said, so I decided to pick the one thing I could comment on.
"What?" She asked, confused by my question.
"You said you didn't want to go home smelling like beer. You drink?" I asked again.
"No!" She said, and I couldn't help feeling relieved. "But that doesn't mean I don't smell like it." She pointed out.
"You could always sleep in the guest room." Zayn offered, bringing the conversation back to the issue.
As I looked at both of them, I knew that I was screwed. There was no way I could go home now.
I sighed. "Fine." I agreed.
Paige clapped like a little girl, and squealed as she hugged me.
