Chapter 23

Paige's P.O.V:

I stood there stunned, looking after my best friend running out of the building, no doubt in tears, and back to her boyfriend and his ex. I wasn't sure what to do, go after my friend or stay and watch the rest unfold?

The decision was made for me when I watched Harry snatch something out of Stefanie's hand and storm off. He was pissed. I ducked into a group of people so Stefanie wouldn't see me, but she looked pleased, straight in the direction of Victoria running out of the building. What the hell?

I decided that Victoria was probably going to run out to the car or something like that and nothing was going to calm her down, so she was out of the question to go after. I would physically fight Stefanie and she wouldn't give me the truth anyway so that was no use. So I guess my last option was to find Harry.

But unfortunately, he disappeared into the crowd of people already. I sighed and ran off in the last direction I saw him in. I needed to catch up to him.

After about a minute of running, I still hadn't found him. In my last attempt to search for him, I ran outside.

Just my luck, I see him getting into his car. I break out into a dead sprint and make it there just as he is pulling out.

"Wait! Stop!" I yell, waving my arms.

He doesn't see me at first and I scream, thinking I'm going to get hit. He slams on his breaks just mere inches before my entire foot gets crushed by his back tire.

His door pops open and he comes rushing out. "Jesus fucking Chirst  Paige! What the hell are you doing?! Are you asking to die? Why did you jump out in front of me like that?!" He runs his fingers through his hair and I see his bloodshot eyes seething with rage.

It just now occurred to me how terrifying this man could be.

"Uh... I needed to talk to you." I stammered, all of my courage rushing out of me like air out of a balloon.

"Talk to me?! You almost died because you needed to talk?! What is with all you females and speaking with me today? Can't you see I don't want to be bothered right now? Piss off!" He shouted at me.

My courage came back like a fire in my veins and I balled up my fists as I got ready to unleash my pent up fury at him.

"First of all, fuck off you worthless piece of shit! That is not how you talk to a lady and I'll be dammed if I let any man talk to me that way! I came to hunt your sorry ass down because your girlfriend is somewhere in the mall crying her eyes out because of you. What are you doing with Stefanie again huh? Are you cheating on my friend you sick lying bastard!"

My anger stopped Harry dead in his tracks. "Cheating on Victoria... With that snake dressed up in a mini skirt? Oh helllllll no. Not again. How the hell did you even see us?" He asked. He looked like he might be sick just thinking about it.

"Oh no you don't Mr. I'm asking the questions around here. What do you mean 'Not again'? Huh? Have you seen her before? Whats going on? And don't think I won't call you out if you lie." I warned.

"Calm down. Don't get your panties in a twist there. I bumped into Steph in the mall yesterday and she flagged me down to talk. It didn't go as she planned and since she had nothing that interested me to talk about, I stormed off. But... I left my phone behind. She of course wasn't going to give it up without a fight, so I met up with her again to get it back. That's all... not that I should have to explain anything to you anyway." He said.

"But..." I began before he cut me off.

"Wait a second..." He said. "You said Victoria was crying somewhere. Is she okay? Where is she? Oh my God..." I watched him panic and look around frantically for my friend.

"I don't know," I said, leaving the interrogation on hold for a bit. His frantic look made my adrenaline go down and my worry for my friend go up. Where was she?

"What do you mean you don't know? Weren't you with her spying on me and getting the wrong information and shit?" He asked, not really paying attention to me as he looked.

"Well no..." i began, but he took off in the direction of the store. 

"Come on." He said, "Explain and walk, we gotta find her."

I followed after him and gulped. This was going to be an interesting trip...

(A/N: HELLLLOOOOO I'M BACK!!! So I managed to get my butt in gear and finish a chapter for this book. I'm hoping to add regular Friday or Saturday update for this book, on top of my already my Monday-Wednesday update schedule for two other books I have going currently but I haven't decided yet what I'm going to do. I'm not sure if this is going to be a regular thing yet because I still feel a bit of pressure to put out an update for you guys but I have my ways that I plan to work out for that. I'm not sure how many people were waiting patiently for an update of this book but, if you were, you can thank my friend @StephMadewell who read my whole book in like 4 days and just about killed me today for putting this one on hold LOL. So I'm gonna dedicate this one to her for getting my butt in gear and reminding me how many people actually like this story. I hope you enjoyed the chapter and thanks for patiently waiting for me!
