Victoria's P.O.V

Paige said her goodbye and left me and Harry to it. He didn't let me go the entire way to the car.

He even opened my door for me and helped me in, then ran around to his own side and brought me into his arms again.

I had finally stopped crying, but I was still sniffling uncontrollably. He brought me into his embrace and I hugged him tightly. I kept waiting for him to move away and  start driving but... he didn't. He didn't move until I was fully in control of my breath and not crying.

And then he explained everything. He explained how Stefanie was a manipulative little bitch and stole his phone. How he was just getting it back. He stayed behind to confront her, which is why he didn't go after me when I ran away crying. I learned everything I needed to know. And then I felt so, so stupid.

"I freaked out... Over that? Just that. You swear that's what happened?"

"...Yeah." Harry said. "That's it."

"Is that why you... but wait. I was texting you." I said, remembering the conversation I had with him the other day.

"You were texting me?" He said, confused.

"Yeah, I told you my mom was upset at me and you asked me if I wanted you to come over again and I said yes. Then I said 'I love you' and you... never responded." I felt sad again as I remembered the unanswered text that caused me to come to the mall in the first place.

"So do you want to throw another lie in my face?" I asked, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Victoria I did not lie to you. Those texts were not sent from me." He said honestly.

"Well, then, who sent them? Your mom?" I accused.

"Stefanie." He said.

"Huh?" I asked.

"I never changed my password from when we were together. She must have remembered it and texted you pretending to be me."

"And you expect me to believe that?" I asked, my concern wavering.

"Name one time, dating or not, that I have blown you off." He looked at my sternly.

I opened my mouth. And then closed it. Then opened it again. The frowned.

Never. The answer was never. Even if we hadn't been dating. As a matter of fact, he would even ditch her at times to go to me when they were still dating.

"I thought so." Harry said, crossing his arms and turning to face forward.

"Harry I'm-" I began.

"Don't. Don't finish that sentence." He was so angry.

I melted back into my seat. Oh God.

Silently he turned the car on and and started to drive me home. Neither of us said anything on the ride home.

The whole way my brain tried to figure out a good question to address his sudden anger.

Are you mad? -Well that was obvious.

What's wrong? -Duh.

I love you. - I don't think I would get a response.

Nothing I said was going to make this situation better, but I didn't want to leave him on this sour note.

Finally when we pulled up into my driveway, I turned to him and he sat there staring ahead, as I knew he would.

"Talk to me." I said. I wasn't leaving until this was resolved.
