Victoria's P.O.V
The ride to the store wasn't nearly as awkward as I thought it was going to be. Harry's mom talked away happily and occasionally sung along to the radio the whole time. I loved her! She was so cute. And she was so different from Harry.... It was hard to believe they were related at all.
"Is this the store Harry was talking about?" She asked, pulling into the target parking lot.
"Yes it is," I smiled. She had been following my directions of the store that Harry told us was nearby. So she parked and we both got out.
Grabbing a shopping cart on the way in, she took a deep breath and looked around the huge store. She looked like she didn't know where to start first. I didn't blame her, I never went shopping for food very often. At least not dinner food.
"Okay! So what do you feel like making?" She asked. "What sounds good?"
"Those are two totally different questions," I laughed.
"Good point," She laughed with me. "I could go for a juicy, tender, steak at the moment, compete with a five course meal... but I don't think Harry would be willing to wait for all that."
I smiled. She had an amazing sense of humor.
"How about tacos?" I asked, as we passed the isle.
"Tacos?" She asked, mulling the idea over in her head. "Well, it's quick, easy and could totally be made to feed three people. Sure! Do you think Harry will like it though?" She asked.
"Harry will eat whatever we cook." I said.
"You have a point," She agreed, truing down the isle.
Once we gathered up all the things, she looked around one more time. "Is there anything else we might need?" She asked.
"No I think we have everything," I said, looking at the list I had made on my phone. We used that to make sure we didn't miss something.
"Alright then we better get in line and check out! Harry probably wants his car back and is getting impatient."

The ride to Harry's place was just as pleasant as the ride back. We walked in the door, and Harry was sitting down watching T.V, as we both expected.
"We're baaaack!" His mom sung.
"Finally," He grumbled, but I saw a hint of a smile as he walked over and helped his mom with the bags. He walked past me and gave me a kiss on the head. "I missed you," He whispered before walking towards the kitchen.
I smiled and turned to Harry's mom "Why don't you sit down to rest while I help Harry with the bags in the kitchen?"
"Okay dear," She looked relieved to be sitting down and I had a feeling jet-lag would take over at any minute. She'd be out like light before I even made it to the doorway.
Sure enough, when I turned around, her eyes were closed and her head was leaned back against the back of the couch. Poor thing
I walked into the kitchen and set the rest of the bags down. Harry was already looking through everything we bought.
"Did you guys decide on Mexican food?" He asked, pulling out our spices and taco sauce.
"Yes." I laughed. "How does tacos sound?"
"Sounds hard." He grumbled. "And messy. I just cleaned the kitchen!"
"This is clean?" I asked, looking around at the stack of dishes and very full garbage can.
"You didn't see it before."
"Why are you being a grumpy butt?" I asked, stepping in between him and the counter.
"I'm not," He defended, wrapping his arms around me. He nuzzled into my neck.
"Yes you are." I said, wrapping my arms around his neck.
"Nu-huh." He protested again, burring his face further into my neck.
I giggled. He was so cute.
"Yes you are!" I said, pulling his head from my neck. He picked me up and set me on the counter.
"Well, I know I called my Mum to come help me with school and all but... I guess I just didn't... Think she would actually come? I don't know... I knew she would show up but I guess I didn't know what it would feel like when she got here y'know?" He asked, looking up at me.
"I think so..." I said.
"Think about it for a minute though..." Harry trailed off. "When was the last time I actually lived with my mother? It's been quite a few years. Plus, as far as I know, she's still with that evil man that not only single-handedly ruined my childhood but damaged me mentally for all the years to come! And I can't help but blame her slightly for me being the way that I am. She stayed with Asshole-Allen after years of his abuse to me and her. How could she do that?!" He ran his fingers through his hair in frustration.
I reached out and pulled him close to me, alarmed. I had never seen Harry like this. So... vulnerable and... full of emotion. My heart broke for the man in front of me.
"I'm sorry." He said. "I guess I just didn't know that bringing her back here would bring up so many extra emotions that I didn't know I had. Well... I guess I knew I had them, I've just been... suppressing them. Focused my energy on other things or drank away what I couldn't forget. Bringing her here just brought all of this back up."
"Why don;t you tell her all of that?" I asked. " It would help you get rid of all those feelings.
"No it wouldn't!" He said, walking away from me. "She doesn't listen to me! I'm 'just a kid to her' I 'don't know what I'm talking about.' That's what she always used to say to me. Whenever I tried to tell her that her precious husband was doing something wrong, she would just sigh and tell me I was silly. I'm fucking graduated from high school and she still wouldn't listen! She is blinded by him for whatever fucking reason and I can't shake her out of it, no matter how hard I try. I gave up long ago when she sent me here to live." He sighed, walking around the kitchen.
"Keep your voice down! You'll wake her!" I warned.
"Too late." He said.
I looked up and saw a very teary-eyed woman in the kicthen doorway.
Uh-oh
