Ellie’s POV
I wake up slowly, rolling over in Spike’s soft sheets.

“Mmm,” Spike grunts tiredly.

“Morning,” I say quietly, nudging his head with my forehead.

“Mmm.”

His hair is soft and ruffled from sleep.  His eyes are still closed, but there is a slight smile emerging on his lips.

“Make me coffee,” I say half teasingly, half seriously.

At this he opens his soft brown eyes.

“Are you always this demanding? I don’t think I can handle having a meister like that.  I don’t think this is going to work out,” he jokes.  He has his morning, scraggly voice.

“Hmph.”

Spike rolls over and kisses me on the top of the head.  My body unconsciously tenses, and he feels it.  He pulls back, facing the other way.  I can practically see how flushed his cheeks are.  He thinks that I didn’t want him to kiss me.

I don’t even think.  I push over, lying on top of him.  I slip my hands around his head, pulling slightly on his green hair.

I plant a kiss a on his lips.

He pulls back, his eyes filled with confusion.

I smile.

He wraps his arms around my waist and kisses me again.

After a long kiss, I push up on his chest and pad out of his room.

“Ellie…” he whines.

I ignore him, and begin the coffee making process.  I put on a Beatles CD and dance around the kitchen.  I put my hair up in a sloppy bun.  The coffee smells so good, but I happen to have bought the longest coffee making coffee maker on the face of the Earth.  This is taking forever!

“Ellie,” Spike whines again, wrapping his arms around my waist, planting a kiss on my neck.

“Mmm?”

He turns me around, and plants a hand behind me on the counter, pinning me sort of.  I take both hands, and wrap them around his neck.  He looks down at me, smirking sort of.

He surprises me, by scooping me up by the butt.  I wrap my legs around his torso, sitting on the edge of the counter.  He leans in and we kiss.  It feels like heaven.  It is kind of slow, but passionate and nice.

“Well, well, well.  What do we have here?”

The voice surprises me, and I look up to see Fury standing there smirking.  The whole group is standing behind her.  Their faces are priceless, but I’m more focused on being mortified.

I tuck a piece of hair that fell out from the bun behind my ear, “Um.  I didn’t hear you guys come in.”

“SO YOU ARE DATING?!?!” Matsukaze screams the obvious.

“I could’ve sworn the door was locked,” I murmur, blatantly avoiding the question.  I push away from Spike and begin to walk around the kitchen, tidying up.

“You could have at least told us,” Tristan says.

“People these days.  Letting themselves in without an answer from inside,” I say.

“ELLIE! YOU SHOULD AT LEAST TELL YOUR OWN TWIN SISTER,” Eva screams.

“Why are you here?”
“Because, Lord Death gave us the day off, so we thought we’d come see you but now we’ve discovered that you and Spike are dating, and haven’t told anyone.  This betrayal is so great, I think we might just have to go home,” Tristan teases.

“Do you guys want to play a basketball game,” Spike asks calmly.

“YEA, WE DO,” Matsukaze screams, being her ADHD self.

“I’m going to go get dressed,” I say walking into my room.

I smile.  I love my best friends.  Spike.  Oh Spike.  He is wonderful.

I pull on a white strapless sundress, Spike’s leather jacket and red Converse high tops.   I do a loose fishtail, and put on a little mascara.

“Woah,” Eva says when I come out of my room.

“Hubba, hubba,” Fury says.

I punch her playfully in the arm and go to get a coffee mug. I chug the coffee down, exhaling afterwards.  Everyone laughs at me, and I smile sheepishly.

Spike emerges in his workout clothes, and we head on our way.  The boys and Matsukaze race to the basketball court, while Eva, Fury, Claire and I walk behind.

“So you and Spike… Is that official?”

“Um, not really, yes, maybe, I don’t know.  You guys literally walked in on the worst moment possible.  In two hours we will be fighting, and he will be like my annoying younger brother again.  It’s so complicated,” I groan.

“Haha,” Eva laughs.

“What’s so funny,” I question, arching an eyebrow.

“Well, it’s just so obvious you to adore each other.  When you fight, it’s adorable and funny, and not as intense as you think it is.  He like loves you.  You two… We’ve been waiting forever for this to happen!”
“Ngh,” I groan, bringing my hands to my head.

“Haha, you love him,” Fury says playfully.

“Stop,” I plead and I race ahead to the basketball court.

I sit watching the game unfold, after everyone finally picks teams it gets intense.  Basketball isn’t my thing, so I sit happily watching.

The game is fierce and nobody is really scoring. I didn’t realize how hard basketball is.

Spike dribbles past Eva, spins around Tristan and ducks a swipe from Matsukaze.  He shoots the ball.  There is the soft swish of the basketball passing through the hoop.

“Rahh,” Spike cries victoriously, putting his arms up and running around the court.  He runs over to me, scoops me up and kisses me.

I can’t stop laughing.  Everyone else is cracking up at Spike’s over celebration.

I look down at Spike, still sitting in his arms, “Will you go out with me?”
I am half- laughing, half- speaking.

“Um, duhh,” he says.

I laugh again and kiss him.
