Heyyy. Just a little note. Warning: this is not my best chapter. I had terrible writers block and I just feel so terrible for not updating recently. So yeah, be patient. SENG is doing incredibly! Thank you so much for all of your love and dedication!!! I love writing and don’t get to do it enough! My swim season is coming to a close, so I will probably be able to update more often from now on! Thank you so much! I love you!
Cameron’s POV
“Let me get this straight,” Lord Death says, “You want me to allow a witch to use magic on you?”
“Yes,” Ellie says, nodding, “But not just any witch. I want Kim to help us. She’s your friend.”
“But, Ellie, even the strongest witches tend to lose control when they possess someone. She could help you find Hecate and her sister, but she might not be able to easily relinquish you, especially if you are dealing with any darkness right now,” Lord Death says looking at Ellie intently, “When a witch’s power senses darkness, it tends to go crazy. Kim is strong, but not strong enough to relinquish her grasp on you, if her magic goes wild.”
“I know that. I’ve read all the research you and her have done on witches these last thirty years. I believe I am strong enough, and I have a reason to believe that somewhere in my soul, she can find the darkness that they have caused. Then maybe, we can use that connection to them to find their location. It also might have a psychological benefit.”
“Or it could severely hurt you.”
“Let my weapon decide,” Ellie says, looking at me, “It’s his job to protect me. He should decide.”
“Fair enough,” Lord Death says, “Cameron, take into account that this could hurt Ellie. It could be of benefit to her, but the risks seem to out way the benefits in my opinion.”
I take a deep breath. I don’t want any harm to come to Ellie, but I also know how much this means to her. I look in her eyes and see a focused, slightly desperate air about them. She really wants this.
“I think we should go for it. Cause, if something happens while she’s unconscious, I can pull her out, right? Because our souls will be able to resonate.”
“Well, that’s the thing Cameron. You’ll be the one navigating Ellie’s soul.”
I feel my eyes bug out of my head.
“What?”
“Yeah, you need to be the one, who locates the part of Ellie’s soul dedicated to darkness. Then you will, most likely, be able to locate Hecate and Lila.”
“That might be a problem,” I say looking at the ground, “I’m not the best at the whole soul resonance stuff. Ellie’s been the one leading me through it. I don’t know if I cou-“
I feel two slender hands take mine, “Please Cameron. You have to. I have full faith in you.”
Ellie’s pale green eyes stare into mine. I find myself nodding. I just can’t let Ellie down.
The next thing I know, Ellie and I are lying next to each other in adjacent hospital beds.
“Alright, I will put Ellie underneath my spell first. Then I will allow Cameron to resonate with her,” Kim says, the to Lord Death, “It should be like the way Maka helped Soul through the madness of the black blood.”
Lord Death just nods.
I slowly feel myself drift from consciousness.
I wake up in a shockingly bright room. It has the soft glow of sunlight streaming in through massive windows. The windows are open with beautiful curtains flowing from the ceiling, with a warm breeze. I sit up, and look around. At the end of the room a girl stands with her pack to me. She wears a white dress that goes to the floor. Her white hair curls at the bottom.
