My grandma and Evelyn's mom were sitting on the porch when we arrived. They were talking slowly with cups of coffee in their hands. They seemed very content as they gossiped throughout the day, and I guess Evelyn and I decided to join in on their coffee talks.
"Good morning girls" My grandma said cheerfully as we bounded up the porch stairs. I sat down on a old rocking chair that my grandma sews in, and folded my hands together.
"Oh Karman! Could you help Noah hang up the laundry?" My grandma asked me with her wrinkled face. I let out an internal groan, but then I realized that Noah would be there too, and suddenly chores didn't seem all that bad. I forced myself out of the rocking chair and made my way to the backyard where the clothes lines were.
In a way, my grandparents were kind of Amish. We didn't use a dryer, instead we let the wind and the sun dry our clothes naturally. It always left a refreshing smell afterwards on the fabric, and I've noticed it's helped me sleep on rough nights.
Noah was picking clothes from the basket, and using clothes pins to hang them up. I don't think he noticed me at first, but then he turned around and his smile was enough to melt Olaf in the dead of winter.
"Oh hey Karman" Noah smiled. He turned around and returned to his work while I grabbed the other basket that held clothes waiting to be hung up. I grabbed a white shirt that I instantly remembered it being Noah's. It felt invasive to hold his shirt in my hands, but I didn't care. Noah was hot.
"So how was your ice cream date with Evelyn?" He asked with a small chuckle. I glanced up from the clothes to look at him and his gorgeous face.
"It was good, she couldn't stop talking about how hot you were" I said, but as soon as I said it I knew I regretted it. My insides felt like they were on fire and my cheeks turned deep red. For a moment I thought I couldn't breathe, but then I realized I was just holding my breath. Noah's smile turned into a small smirk that looked completely hot on him, and my cheeks turned redder than a smashed tomato. In a way I felt kind of bad for letting out her secret, but at the same time I didn't mind. He glanced into my eyes for a moment before speaking.
"Do you think I'm hot?" He asked slowly that sounded more like a question that he already knew the answer to. He seemed completely sure of himself, and his smile made me forget how to talk.
"Uh- I - yes, very hot. I mean, uh- very good looking" I said, although I practically sounded stupid. I couldn't believe what I just said, and if anything I was completely embarrassed. But his smile only grew wider at my comment, and what he did next made my stomach do backflips.
"Well, you know what I think is hot?" He asked, and for a second I thought he would say me,
"What?" I asked, because believe it or not I was insanely curious. I really really hoped he wouldn't say Evelyn, or my heart might literally snap in two.
"These" he said. And in his hand was something that made my eyes pop from my head. My Disney Underwear.
Finding Nemo.I must've stopped breathing because I couldn't find the right words to say. Instead I stood there with wide eyes at the underwear in his hands. Noah was looking into my eyes, and I could feel my palms starting to grow sweaty as the minutes ticked by. He was so hot.
"I- I um" I said, except I didn't really say anything. It came out like stumbles and stutters. His eyes drilled into my soul like I was the wood and he was the power drill. His smile didn't lower, instead it only brightened like a sunny day. I had to say something.
